This tutorial will show you how to install an IRC client, connect to a server and chat with us.

1) Download the mIRC client www.mirc.com

2) Run the executable and proceed through the installer.

3a) Start mIRC and you'll see a window popup showing the product trial info. You have 30 days to use this product. If at one point it shows no way to run mIRC, I have a cracked version of mIRC that'll pass the registration window that I can give to you. So don't panic yet!
mirc patch here

3b) If you want to buy the mIRC instead, this 50% off coupon is still working as of June 15, 2019: https://www.mirc.com/register.php?coupon=MIRC-SWV0-MNKL

4) Another window pops up after you clicked on continue with the previous window. On the left, you can see several different setting-related tabs.

5) Go the the "Servers" sub category on the left and click "Add" on the right. Once you have done that a window named "Add Server" will appear, here you can specify the server details.

This is the information you need to add.

Click "Add"

6) Go to the server list and you'll see that the server you just added is highlighted in the list. Double click on that server and it will bring you to a connect window.

7) On the connect window, type in your nickname. For an alternative, you can add another nickname which you would like to use. You can skip the email & name fields. Press connect, wait a few seconds, and a channel window pops up. This is the #RenCorner channel, anyone that connects to the server will be joined here. The next thing you should do is register your nickname to gain access and avoid spoofers.

To do this, type
/ns register <YOURpassword> <YOURemail>
You'll see a message in the status window showing you've been registered.

Next step: T
To save that information when you registered(so you auto-login each time):
Go to Tools > Options > Options > Perform > Click the 'Enable perform on connect' button > in the field below that put ->
/ns identify PASSWORDYOUMADE
/join #rc-terraria

/join #rc-kf

/join #rc-kf1

/join #rc-kf2

/join #rc-kf3

/join #rc-kf4

/join #rc-kf5

/join #rc-kf6

/join #rc-kf7

Those channels are optional, add/remove as you wish.

Next step click the Disconnect button, top left lightning bolt, click it again to reconnect. This is to make sure the Perform script is working, if it is, you'll automatically login, and join the channels.

After you've completed these steps you'll be able to chat with other members. http://ostk-clan.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.png

Enjoy!

If you wish to have timestamps and logging with timestamps:

Screenshot_313.png

Tools > Options > IRC > Messages > checkmark 'Timestamp events' and in the box there put in [HH:nn:ss]

Screenshot_314.png

Tools > Options > IRC > Logging > pick 'Automatically log "both"' > checkmark 'Timestamp logs' and in the box there put in [mm-dd][HH:nn:ss]

If you also checkmark 'Date Filenames' and pick 'week' or 'month' in the dropdown box, it'll make sorting logfiles easier.

You can change the format to however you want with the day/month( [dd-mm] / [yyyy-dd-mm] / [dd-mm-yyyy] )...or the actual timestamp to not include seconds( [HH:nn] )

You're set for +V in there now. Just make sure you did that Perform section so it automatically sets you each time you join our irc.

Should look something like this(using your mirc password, and that other use the ingame password you made before):

/ns identify password

/join #rc-terraria

/msg RCTerraria login Zakath1 ingamePassword

Also a good tip(I use it alot too) is do in mirc ALT+R, open the Aliases tab, below what's there add:

/F1 /ns identify password | /msg RCTerraria login Zakath1 ingamePassword

This way you can login to that bot(and irc too) with your F1 key(server restarts it logs us all out of the irc bit).

Nice job at joining/setting it up so quick, most people don't get that far. ;)

To clear that up:

/ns identify (password)    - that password is your IRC password. You need to register with nickserv if you aren't already - /ns register password email
/msg RCterraria login EU (password) and /msg RCterraria2 login EU (password)    - those are your Terraria password, the one starting with b.

He probably said his password ingame, they do it a lot. Most Terraria places use a period as the command, we use slash.

I uploaded mine, I used it for a good amount of time.

http://rencorner.co/index.php/files/file/150-mircrar/

Has installing info in it.

(After you installed it first apply the patch, don't open mIRC before)

Add those lines in the Scripts/Remote

Replace 'your password' with the password you registered.

IRC channel is:  #RC-Terraria

To be able to use IRC based commands, you will need an ingame account.

To login from IRC just do:  /msg RCterraria login <nick> <pass>

You'll be able to use !help/!players/etc. To message players ingame, just type normally, there's no !msg needed.
