visara1 Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 This was a lot of fun last time. Also, just an idea. If we can get 20 players again maybe break it into teams of 4 or 5 and play tournament style. 2 reasons. Times that people can play vary. Communication is better. It is important that we all don't talk over each other.
StJohn Gumby Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Oh, points at me. TBF, maddogg1108 has been organising Fun Wars along Clan War lines here lately so I should probably let him carry on. Organising Commwars against other communities was really my bag anyway. Now that St0rm, Atomix, Jelly, noobstories, Duke, n00bless, Exodus, UNrules and all the others no longer exist I guess my job is pretty much redundant. Still, as last man standing I guess I could claim it as a victory. Miss those happy times tho'. Gumby P.S bring back Spoony and CW.cc 1
Guest rackz Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 So many huge communitys... to bad peoples are to stupid to google "how to play renegade in 2017" these days.
NeoNBreeze Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 I think it's a very fun idea, I presume we are basically talking about a 2v2/3v3 tournament. We would need a good format that can overcome the difficulties of trying to get people online all at the same time. 2

With teams this small maybe we could play week long tournament with championship on weekend. Teams sign up for day and time. No show = forfeit, one member shows, give ten minutes to find replacement. I don't know, just an idea. On 1/16/2017 at 4:43 PM, StJohn Gumby said: Oh, points at me. Maybe together we can pull off these seemingly crazy ideas. Soto future happy times.

But I'm sure he will continue my good work and serve the community well. Gumby P.S This is the kind of thing I used to organise. Happy Days. Still remember planning that Gunner rush on Siege @ 17 mins. LOL
visara1 Posted January 19, 2017 Author Posted January 19, 2017 I can't speak for mdogg but I am personally asking him and everyone else, could we please put our differences/grudges aside to make this happen? If there is anything I can do just name it. p.s. Awesome video. I wish I could have been a part of it.
mdogg1108 Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 (edited) In my honest opinion (just my opinion, doesn't mean it's correct), I don't really envision a tournament really working, or working smoothly for that matter. Last funwar we were able to achieve about ~20-22 players (don't remember the exact number) however you must remember that atleast ~5 of those people came from the server on the same day. Then, you have to organize it and find a time for everyone to be online. It's hard enough to get people to stay for more than 1-2 games during the funwar, I don't see people making more time than that for a tournament. It could be split over a couple days, but I feel like getting everyone on the same page may be way harder than it looks at the moment. I remember even like 10 years ago it was difficult to get it going. Something like this may work but the players involved would have to be small enough to the point where I don't know if it could be considered a tournament. If someone else wants to take a crack at it, I'll surely participate. I still remember my team name, Los Bisnotchoes, shout out to mrhero101. As for funwars in general, I think they are really fun. It is part of the reason why I created iB. However, in my honest opinion, I don't think huge community funwars should be overdone. Small funwars (4v4,5v5) are great to do at any time. However, I think huge, organized, community funwars shouldn't happen more than twice a month at that. I feel this way because I think that if you start doing them more often, people are less inclined to show up. When you know there's a funwar every Saturday, you just figure "hey, I can skip this one and just show up next week!" Whereas, if there is a funwar just once a month, you may think "wow, I better show up today or I got to wait a really long time to play!" If you start doing them very often, you may not get those 10v10 games, you may end up getting 6v6's when you expected more. Anyways, just what I think. Feel free to agree/disagree =D Edited January 19, 2017 by mdogg1108
Goztow Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 You are quite right. Tournaments won't work. 1
