Rooney Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Looking for some advise right now. I have some money set aside and I would like to stick it into upgrading my PC a little bit. My current PC - I bought it prebuilt because at the time I had no knowledge of building PCs or what to look for when buying, I just saw the good reviews and figured it'd be perfect to play simple games like Renegade, Age of Empires, and maybe a handful of newer titles. However, I am becoming more and more into games that require more power from my PC that it just isn't able to put out (Ghost Recon Wildlands, Ark). I can play the games, but its on low-medium settings and I just can't justify spending money on these big name games and having Super Mario Brothers look crisper.. lol I've been doing research, and I am pretty set on picking up the XFX Radeon RX 480 (4GB), however I am reading online that my processor (eight core AMD FX-8320) will bottleneck that graphics card? I believe my PC currently has a RX 460. Is the RX 480 a big improvement from my current RX 460? Is my processor really whats restricting my game play and not my graphics card? Thanks in advance!

Rooney Posted April 6, 2017 Author Posted April 6, 2017 (edited) I went ahead and bought the RX 480. Its a major improvement over what I was using before. It was a $200 well spent! Edited April 6, 2017 by Rooney
