Iran Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 (edited) Open the registry and edit HKEY_Current_User->Software->Westwood->Renegade->Networking->Options->NetUpdateRate Set it to 1000 (but DON'T set it any higher). MAKE SURE YOU SET 'BASE' TO 'DECIMAL' else you'll get issues. Then test ingame by holding he move forwards key while spamming the crouch key for like 7 seconds. release both keys at the same time after 7 seconds and see if you still get lagged around. Guest rackz Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 (edited) You can set in ingame aswell, but then it will set it at max 30. But i guess its because of the "TTnetUpdateRate" wich is missing at your picture. Edited April 21, 2017 by rackz
Iran Posted April 21, 2017 Author Posted April 21, 2017 Yes and that's the issue. With 30 it lags like crazy cause it will only send your input every 33 milliseconds. with 1000 it will send it only 1 millisecond. The issue is worse with crouching because crouching modifies the soldier speed to be lower so then you get speed and location sync issues with client and server.
Guest rackz Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 (edited) Before the server started to lag and when 4.2 was released (i made same topic), i could use ingame "nur 300" wich was perfectly fine. Now i tryed it again using the registry, it still warps me lil around :( and the hit detection feels weird sometimes, espicially when using autorifles when aim at heads. Something is really messed up. Edited April 21, 2017 by rackz
Iran Posted April 21, 2017 Author Posted April 21, 2017 Yeah, but setting server NUR to 100 instead of 30 fixes that...you'll have to make your own server NUR console command cause the server NUR console command also doesn't allow it to be set above 30 (every 33 milliseconds).
Guest rackz Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 (edited) Just a few secs before your last reply MPF set the SFPS to 100(shows 91 ingame) it was 60 before. And nur to 30 again using console, seems alot better now. Atleast for recnbikes and walking up thin paths (aslong you dont jump all to much around) They said 30 is the .max setting. I never heard this from a TT guy before. Damn, im EU player aswell, otherwise i would have said, start up a server and lets try messing around together. EDIT: i just set ingame NUR to 300, registry still shows 1000, maybe reboot PC is needed?. Edited April 21, 2017 by rackz
Iran Posted April 21, 2017 Author Posted April 21, 2017 Yeah 30 is the max on both client and server. That's why you need to work around it on the client by setting the registry value directly to 1000. On the server you need to make your own NUR console command because the built-in doesn't allow you to go over 30.
