Volcom Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 Hey guys, We have recently expanded our community and merged our discord with another. The CIA Watchlist is a great community with lots of fun characters. They have a style that is similar to ours. They enjoy debating politics and current events. The theme changes based on what is relevant and it is very active. Let's show them some Rencorner spirit and hit up the server with some new people and get it even more populated. In personal experience, I find discord a major upgrade to TeamSpeak and hope you guys will move on over. Please give me some time to sort out positions and such but I can't wait to see you guys on there! Here is a perm link to it: https://discord.gg/54YcUnK 2
shaitan Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Did you know Discord is something you should be leery of? Leaves this, and this, here. 2
Joetorp Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Rob, What is the problem with TS that made you look for another comm program? Frankly, I like TS. Discord is about having channels for discussing topics... that is what we have Rencorner forum for. TS is for voice. I know you have voice in Discord, but it isn't obvious. I just don't feel comfortable there, tbh.

shaitan Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 They had some real security issues before. They also had it so anything you say/make/upload/transfer was owned by them. That part has changed somewhat, but you still can never tell them they cannot use your own stuff, you gave them license to use it. That shit makes me leery, at least with TS they have no rights to our stuff. The other thing that gets me...what happens when they run out of that starter money? Supposedly they were going to use pay-for-stickers to keep up servers and stuff. lmao stickers paying for that ungodly amount of server/bandwidth alone makes me laugh. *puts away my tinfoil cap for now* 2
ehh Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 basically like all voips, just dont join random ones that you dont trust. You'd be surprised what people spend money on, 2k dragon lore anyone
Manuel857 Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Yeah I'm not a fan of discord. I'll stick with Teamspeak.
mdogg1108 Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 I haven't actually used discord on my pc but I'm not a big fan of being with all those other people. 1
ehh Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 i agree seemed strange joining two communities together discord > ts tho all day

woolwind Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 discord is ok although I prefer the TS model because it doesn't require anyone to create an account, and it is still a baby company so I'd be leery of moving the whole community there. Your invite expired.
warlord83 Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 I prefer teamspeak hell the military used it and may still use versions of team speak, which to me says a lot for teamspeak. 1
ice187dna Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 I joined Discord a bit back, just found people disliking Rencorner and some were suspicious of us doing a 'Hostile Takeover' when I read the comments by them. Looked around the place, nothing special. Personally I don't like it and prefer TS. 'User entered your channel' 'User left your channel' It's the little things like that which amuse me in life. Besides it's funny hearing Qwicksilver being drunk on TS most weekends playing Ark Survival Evolved. Thanx for discord but no thanx. TS all the way. But each to their own. !vote Stick with Team Speak. 1

I've made an official Discord server for Rencorner since the one Trojan offered us to join, either expired or doesn't exist anymore. https://discord.gg/GZmmTAe
Guest rackz Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 (edited) Discord feels more like a messenger. For messages i use the forums, and if i want to talk i use TS. Discord is a cool idea and getting very famous, but i stick to oldshool teamspeak. Teamspeak vs Discord is like RenX vs Renegade. Edited March 6, 2018 by rackz
