C&C Mars - Forum poll to add to MAP rotation.

This is a message to Manuel and Mass... A majority of players ACTUALLY like Mars... Could we start a poll on the rencorner forums and vote to add it to the rotation. Please?

Shai, said something about Mars being on MPF... but I've yet to see that server play mars. If you guys start the poll a lot of players will vote "yes" on it. Please??!?!

I don't think we can add that map to the rotation. Only thing i can think of is using the !vote system after the hour passes to make a vote about setting it as the nextmap.

 

Edit: We have poll a ingame now for adding Mars to the rotation:--  !mars/!nomars

If we get enough !mars, we COULD switch a map with Mars from the rotation.

Thats why i said we could. We don't have to replace but I prefer not having a big ass rotation. Plus removing Sand would be nice.

the mars that plays on mpf is a different on with a weird electric barrier around the bases and stuff
the mars thats currently being played is pretty open 1 tunnel system and anti gravity i believe the other has that too

Add Mars, it's one of the better fan maps out there. Well balanced. 

Sand is stupid, remove it. Even MPF's recreated version with Mutants and flying vehicles wasn't any better.

MetroTS is really fun with a lot of players, one of ACK's better maps I think, not in the poll, but many have mentioned it here.

@Manuel857 What's wrong with a large rotation, is it just personal preference?

@shaitan You decide something on Backstab & Halloween? You just removing textures and adding them into the rotation?

Mars sounds like it's gonna be a bad idea.

Add it and wait for it to be removed the week after.

Remove sand tho while your at it

metro is just another blah map its just city2.0 and then if its aow there is no real play at all

Is this a serious topic? we already have to deal with tons of useless snipers. This horrible flat map is sniper's and stank's dream. And the low gravity turns every noob to a professional sniper.

Also sand sucks, no tankgame = no fun. Sand is for noobs that don't teamplay and snipe 24/7.

I'd guess some fanmaps are terrible at getting a consistent player counts as well as being terrible to play in low number counts (say 3v3)

For a map like mars, its better to get a good player count map (under/field) then just throw in there and see what its like.

Uhm, could we actually get to play the map for a day or two before we get to vote on it? As if most of the voters know what the gameplay on Mars is like. They all vote yes and then hate themselves for it the week after.

I've never played another game where additional maps/scenarios caused this much of an issue, and adding non-official Westwood maps have been a problem since they came out. I've played them on many servers over the years and those servers had great success. From Renbattle, to Renwarz, to UNRules, and MPF. Hell, I even hosted a fan map server over 10 years ago. 

There used to be an excuse, and a pretty shitty one it was. "Cries, I'm too lazy to download a new map, waaaah". That attitude that people had caused servers NOT try to them at all. Some of them did, a little, and they had good results. The Pitts was one of them. They hosted C&C Gigantomachy. It's a decent map, not my favorite, but it's a good one.

Now with TT, and the auto-map download feature, this issue SHOULDN'T exist, yet it still does and that just amazes me. That's just arrogance and fear of change. No excuse fan maps can't be added. Hell if your worried that a map might suck, ask me (I'm like a fan map encyclopedia) or download them try them yourself. I think many would be surprised how many good ones there are out there

I don't see additional maps being added here, you guys seem to be OK with the vanilla maps (little over played and redundant if you ask me), but I'll be really surprised if they are. 

Just some of my thoughts. I say go for it, obviously. Throw mine in the mix as well. 

 

PS: This is the only game where this is an issue, #mindblown

When you have ONE server that only plays regular vanilla maps, you'll get upset people when there cant play a vanilla map.

Maps are also very important in this game, In other FPS games; people dont really care what map it is.
