trunkskgb Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 I have another map, that's been through testing for awhile (screen shots below), but I don't know when it was last on a server. It's at version B8 at the moment, and could possibly use a few tweaks. Everything is working fine at the moment, except for the Nod repair pad, and I think the GDI repair pad has a missing texture issue, other than that, it's fine. If you guys want to check it out, I can try to finalize and make it ready for online play. It's slightly large though, I'd say no bigger than Conquest Winter. There is an MPF logo, which I will remove like in Backstab. ridge_b8.zip
mdogg1108 Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 (edited) Looks too big for the amount of players usually on (just from pics) Edited October 31, 2017 by mdogg1108
trunkskgb Posted January 23, 2018 Author Posted January 23, 2018 It is a little large yeah, it's was my 1st map. Those are the old pics, the new ones include the updates, but the size is the same. I've seen 20v20 on it and 5v5 on it, it's actually fun both ways, and I'm not saying that because I'm biased. I'm working on another map at the moment, but I can always tweak this one quickly if needed. @shaitan Thoughts?
Guest rackz Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 A 100% handmade terrain never turned out good in Renegade. You should try using other techniques... more polys, the "Relax" modifier, "Paint/Deform" modifier, "optimize" modifier etc. It also depends VERY MUCH on HOW you use these tools. Here´s a 2 minutes work for example: (just a side note, those UVW blendings arent even hand painted, i did want to make a tutorial, but since win10 fucks up my 3ds max i cant do shit)
trunkskgb Posted January 29, 2018 Author Posted January 29, 2018 Yeah that sucks that Win10 doesn't support. I know a few people who left because they couldn't design anymore. As far as editing goes, I'm still new, despite this being my 4th map. I learn as I go, and thankfully, there is still support out there for 3ds/Renegade. This was my 1st map, as you can tell...haha!
