You and uoofztar weren't even there Wednesday, how can either of you objectively say if it was bad or good? 

Logic...ha there's not much logic if I'm throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks(logic comes after to see what may work). Did the same with Volcano_Flying if you recall, and people seemed to like it(out of the 12 other maps added that day(well they also like HerosCircuit/Skatepark sometimes but those aren't in rotation)).

Do note that this is done on dead days rarely. I'm not going to sit back and watch as Renegade in Rencorner slowly dies without trying different things. We lost Wednesdays before, and a few months ago Sundays we started losing people. It wasn't any changes that did it either, modifications were the same here, and the players stayed the same.

*edit* May have forgotten about Niagara deadeyes, will change that tonight.

As for the Heroes_Circuit thing, its fun for about 5 mins, but what tends to happen is specific players or rather a group will be in-game that just votes the map in over and over till the server empties out because it gets boring.

For example, say we have a 15v15, votes only require 1/3 of the population to vote yes? So heroes_circuit slips past the vote eventually if people spam it enough, players leave, and it gets to like 10v10, players get bored and eventually its like 7v7, thats already half the population left, then that same group will vote the nextmap be it again, and because half the server population left, theres not enough people to contest against it, and those players won't rejoin to play another 20 mins of playing around in cars....

I witnessed that last week or the week before, it's nice as a "break" kinda thing but not when it lasts for an hour...

As for the snipers thing...

On some maps with large open spaces no snipers works perfectly like Niagra, otherwise it's just a shitfest of arties getting shot from 10 miles away without being able to do a thing, however, I think the more fundamental reasoning behind it because there are so many people in this server specifically who want to snipe; light armor gets demolished. Doesn't help people are just allergic to buying light tanks, mainly because they get crushed by meds.(Although there is still a balance of nod winning games, but its probably just due to Stank rushes, which are a bit stale,  i.e. City_Flying)

Instead of removing Snipers why not change the damage values?

@dippy wasn't it BC that did the ramjets only do 20 damage to an Orca/Apache thing? Or was it something like, it did a certain amount less depending on your veteran status? I think that kinda balanced them out for the flying maps, maybe made flying a little too strong(not really, can still use a pic/rav), but if you watch the server, players barely fly(people tend to spend their few first $$$ on Orcas/apaches, but not again after getting instagibbed by ramjets), because they know there are 5 ramjets waiting for them, either in meds or just roaming the field, which on city_flying, the game 99% of the time results in nod winning because stanks get throughb because theres no Orcas scanning for stanks.

I played it on Niagra yesterday. Sakuras were also unavailable.

However, I don't think you really need to trial it to see what will happen. It's obvious to me.

Yes, I believe there altered damage values of ramjets vs apaches / orcas. I don't think it applied to arties?

I supported the lite/rav ban. It was overpowered, unbalanced and a glitch.

More like an exploit rather than a glitch.

I wonder, no one talked about this. What if we make hitsquads with jets and rails/pics and fill APCs then everyone comes out, shoots and goes back in then the APC fucks off LOL

How about instead of removing guns that were put in the game by the people who made it, you remove pimp weapons so I can feel like I'm actually playing renegade. Idc if you wanna try things out like no snipers but why do we play what feels like many maps because field and under can last hours, with mines that basically kill you asap and pimp rockets which can take out almost anything like asap.

 

And why the hell does snipers do no damage to helis in volcano flying? Helis become way too good... an apache can take out mrls and meds like nothing if they had to

Im pretty sure you're allowed to use light/rav as long as you don't shoot both at the same time? Basically take your time with the shots, although I'v been hesitant to do so in games, because I don't wanna get called out then have to explain it hahah

I'm happy that we brought back the shells. Hope to see some masses again like the good old days. About the snipers being removed on Wednesdays, I thought it was a good idea but at the end of the day, snipers are part of the game. If we do want it removed on Wednesdays, then just on a particular map such as niagra only. Playing niagra without snipers was pretty fun.

Just played a game of Niagra with ramjets, honestly, all saks do is sit near the air, shoot in field, even with limited ammo, refill, same boring shit all game

How do shells help with masses? The vehicle limit of 30 did just fine.

Tank shells makes only sense when veh limit is 8 like back in the days. Also, if veh limit is 8 Nod won't be able whoring the WF on Field with 203992334828 Arties!

The lower the vehicle limit the better for nod. 8 arts plus 8 techs versus 8 meds and 8 hotties guess who wins? Versus 8 arts and 8 techs versus 16 meds

Well thats the optimum what ur talking about. Dont forget the 2 arty n00bs in NOD base who whore tuns all day + the 2 stanks driving on field and only killing harvester = "only" 4 arties

The shells thing is geared towards the Jelly people, Gozy. Some of them just like doing it from what I've seen. Up until they all started joining here there were never any masses. It was at least six months since the lasttime that was enabled(maybe longer).

shells are awesome, more variety in field and more tanks to fight.

we can buy endless amounts of weapons which forces people to stay inf = less tanks, having shells may not bring back the good old days but it will offer more fun when tanking.

Why not make it like mpf(just listen I’m not kidding v:) where you need a certain rank to be able to buy weapons(not high tech shit, just laser rifles, flechette, strong rockets and the stuff below them). Doing the same for tanks should be better. Vanilla was so cool, if a team is stupid enough to lose a building they shouldn’t be able to buy stuff. Having a certain rank required to buy tanks would make it so you can’t just buy them as soon as air/wf gets blown up. Instead you’d have to repair/kill people and rank up then people would donate you so you can buy some. It should increase TP( unless you have A1game or w.e tf his name is. Ref was dead and dude had 2x our entire team’s money combined).

most veterans would have it whereas a building dies you lose the ability to purchase those items but as mentioned in a previous topic purchases are very popular among the players and it would probably be boring taking a step back now, playing vanilla mode etc is a chance to have some old skool fun once in a while, add it perm and it will kill the server. confusing the vet system would just annoy people and probably result in a few player losses too, if anything vet system should not affect the prices of items and just focus on the player upgrades like ap/hp & regen
