So why aren't they on the server? Did someone remove them or what? Can we not just pretend nobody is asking about it?

What do squads do ingame anyways? I've noticed people using it but i have no clue what its for and why its needed. lol

You can join a "squad" which will automatically put you on the same team as someone. So for example, lets say me and an old buddy of mine are playing Renegade and we want to play together, we can just join a squad and we will be guaranteed to be on the same team the next map. It's good for playing with friends or clanmates. It's also good when you guys are on Teamspeak, to ensure people are on the same team.

It is amazing, but to play devils advocate, the reason why people don't like it is because if you make a squad in an extremely small game - you can dominate the game. But there is ways around that other than just disabling the whole function.

I quite liked the squad feature but it was so abusable in smaller games.

As mdogg says there is other ways around it, such as configuring it to be entirely disabled below a certain player count, however such a change probably requires someone like blacky to do it.

It's staying off until it can be set to 2 maps-in-a-row tops. I've thought of rcbot scripting ways, just haven't had luck yet finding a good way to go about it. You can throw a fit in here all you want, that thing fucks the games up when you guys squad alot. For the record, 9 hours ago/8 hours ago/7 hours ago/7.5 hours ago I was still at work. Then 2 hours after that out to watch Star Wars, this is the first I've read this topic. Need a stool sample too?

This what we got to work with, and it is not what I want with map limiting. Closest is "RemixSquads", but that takes the point away of squads, and has the potential for you guys to abuse !squadchat being on the opposite teams.

Squads dominate medium and big games too unless there’s good players on the opposing team that understand tactics and the game in general. It’s a problem when all the sniper nerds join the same squad as well.

If u want to nerve squads, just make it max 2 players in a squad up to 12 players, then max 3 if more players. Problem solved. 

Edit: up 12 to 14 for more nerve

set max squad size to 3 , 4+ is too op

if you can find a way to reset squads at the end of a map where there is less than 12 players then that would be a bonus

I consider 3 or 5 to be efficient to be called a squad, anything more or less isn't considered a squad, IMO.

Having a squad in general is over-powering, considering the rest of the players are one-man-armies that do what they please, and there will be moments there's a squad active on the opposing team while there's no squads on the other team.

Leave it at 5. But the reset on next map is a good idea. Gives it more balance. Will give friends and clan members an opportunity to at least band together on some maps.

Why remove it entirely and not just settle for something in between? This not fair to us who like to play with friends. Try limiting squads to 3... at the very least.. Please...

Disable the team stacking and make it so every squad disbands on map gameover/load so that every game you need to create a new squad.

The whole point is to team up with friends... I'm playing cod ww2 now since release and the squad system is exactly that: you make a party then you all join the same team. It's the way people want to play public games nowadays.

Well if you wanna play with friends you can just manually teamstack a bit.

 

The issue is that you have 5 player squads who will have the same players on the same team. If it were just 2-3 players it wouldn't be that bad.

resetting squads at the end of every game defeats the objective because you are already on the same team when joining a squad.

set it to max 3 players and put it back on the server pls, above 3 is just ridiculous with the player counts we get.

Not really because if the squads are reset you'll be on different teams the next map and then can create a new squad with (partially) different players

But you know that ain't going to happen though. Same squad(s) will form and there's no way for players to stop it from happening.

I see where you're coming from but my prespective is friends and family wanting to play same teams for a few maps, the squad system is the only way to ensure that happens (given player counts are adequate)
