The idea behind using the forum account is to help protect the player data, otherwise people could potentially log in and steal other player's money just by spoofing names.

From all my knowlege, each APB/Reborn/ECW and future project players, i dont think such thing will happen. Everyone heard from eachother/know each other and you could basicly save each players data everyday so you can set it back to a specific time. I just dont liek to register for everything and save/remember 1000ths of passwords.
