Not sure how He4dSh0t assigns ped nukes on low player games to me.  I purposely don't ped most times, and the only times I can think of when I have is when I am outnumbered 2-1.  Otherwise I love to SBH nuke for sure.

The only thing worse than ped nukes (if we assume anything is wrong with them at all) is someone being a sak or havoc and killing engis when they can't buy advanced characters.  You can make your own guesses on who does that time and again.

Hell yea, at times. All part of the game, at least, I think that's why they are there...

isn't the point to win??  I get most people like to think they are so skilled they can win without using a ped nuke, but if you are THAT good then stop a ped nuke too.  What this really means is you have a weakness while sniping that leaves you vulnerable to a ped nuke and you sniper maniacs hate that!

nothing to do with snipers you weapon.

its about someone ped nuking in small games, where people arent sniping.

you;re allowed to do it, but your gonna get criticised for winning cheaply.

How is killing the enemy repairs worse, it's just a viable tactic as any other. How about you get better at the game and try to counter snipe those players to save your engineers instead of bitching about it.

No it doesn't mean that. First of all you will probably not make it on the pedestal if there's snipers on the enemy team. You most likely won't be able to leave the base unless you're an SBH but then you'll have to nuke inside the barracks which will obviously be mined. And if by any chance you're a GDI SBH/Spy, you do realize it still takes quite a lot of time for the nuke to drop, someone will most likely discover it and warn the team and they will most likely kill you and disarm it, again, inside barracks, close quarters, throw some remotes at you or blast your face off with some shotguns. If it was in the Hand of Nod, they can just shoot arties and similar stuff inside, kill you with the splash, you'll get shot through the windows from the outside if you're revealed and they will also disarm it.

Besides, most of the times, you won't see people sniping in small games like 2v2 or 3v3, they will most likely get a tank and repairs, meaning you'll just be useless trying to get inside the base(if there are base defenses and mines) while they pound your base with 1 of your team mates trying to fight them off and 1 other repairing a building(out of all of them). You also have to consider that pretty much every time someone's going to stay in the base and defend it. So I don't really see the point in your comments. Ped beacons are quite rare, you'd have more luck just trying to nuke another building.

After all, it is a tank game...

No it's not. If it was a 'tank game' then there would be no reason to add infantry in it at all. You'd just start with a soldier, get in a tank and play.

What do you repair your tanks with? Other tanks? Nah, you use engineers and technicians, which are infantry and they're critical to have in the field, therefore it's not a tank game. I'd like to see people use a tank to infiltrate a base and plant nukes and ions but here's the catch, you can plant them only with your tank! Ohboy.png the refinery is about to be blown up, quickly get in that med tank, get inside of it and start repairing!

I could just say that it's an infantry game, you come out of your base and I'm sitting on the hill like a jackass with a ramjet and a pic or a railgun and start wrecking your tank without the possibility of you shooting back because I jump around. What unit in the game has the possibility to destroy a building in a couple of seconds? It's definitely not a tank! It's a hottie or a tech(or some other INFANTRY that might have picked up the demolition crate). Are your peasant tanks getting wrecked by enemy tanks because you can't kill them? Oh man only if we had snipers this game since they could absolutely kill those pesky repairs, am I right?

Starcraft is a marine game since they're so good you shouldn't be using anything else. The most overpowered unit in Red Alert 2 is the engineer since you can just capture the entire enemy base and win! Yes!

Freaking 'tank game' what a joke.

I'm not talking about killing an engi repping tanks, etc.  I mean where they sit on a hill overlooking base and just snipe/whore base players coming out of buildings knowing full well there is little anyone can do to stop it.  Not impossible, but hard for sure.  All of this depends on the state of the base, etc.  And I do try to counter, and have killed many snipers.  But I am not that good at it try as I might.  I do try to get better, but it is apparently a slow process :)

And as you describe the effort needed to accomplish a ped nuke, it seems to require a lot more skill than a sak on a hill sniping engis in a base.  And if it does take more effort to overcome all the reasons you state it will most likely fail, then why isn't it valid and respect-worthy?  Would you agree with that?

And back to the beginning of this whole post.  I don't ped ion/nuke very often.  I probably did more years ago.  But I don't think it is any cheaper than many of the other strategies I see being employed in these games.  War is war, and if you don't like getting ped nuked, then get better at countering it the same way as you suggest I get better at countering snipers.  War is war.
