Renegade box and donation info topic

Everything that runs on the normal Renegade box is shut down. It seems we have a bad D drive with 408 bad sectors. I just sent off a ticket to Limestone, so waiting on word on what we can do next. I do not relish moving everything to the 64 PC and then back, so I am hoping they plug in another drive and let us copy or image it directly.

*edit* It seems like they want to do this now, yay! Well, not really a yay, but that means work. D:

In the mean time, you can always play at MPF. Can you imagine me saying that years ago? bwahaha

The direct IRC IP is 64.31.41.114(or irc2.rencorner.co) and the backup Teamspeak is at 64.31.41.114 as well(or ts3.rencorner.co).

Also, we still need donations you guys, bills are due soon. We have $126.99 in the paypal, we need another 248 before fees.

After a bunch of pain in the assery, we have a c drive now.. and need to start copying things from the failing d drive to the newer d drive.

The fucked part, we totally lost the backups we had on that c drive from the 64 pc.

Even if the drive wouldn't boot for some reason; that in no way means all the data should be lost.  You may want to follow-up on that.  Data should still be recoverable through a BootCD.

 

For donations you guys should setup a Patreon or Subscribestar.  Something along those lines.  Bunch of monthly $5 add up, plus you can add tiers and different benefits.  Much easier to subscribe once and have a monthly donation than to count on players to visit the site and donate on a recurring basis.

I did anubis, I had them plug it in. The old C drive won't show up at all in Disk Management.

Yeah, that just means the partitioning table is broken/corrupted.  Might just be able to run a fixmbr to fix that.  Otherwise a bootcd like ActiveBOOT or others can fix it.

Well once they finish adding on the new E drive, we'll start copying over that one. This was the only one without issues, but it's being replaced too.

C drive is brand new, D drive is brand new and most of what could be saved is.

The 64.31.41.114 PC may be needing the same thing, but I am not saying a word to Limestone until we can get everything we can copied/downloaded first. Not that I don't trust them to not wreck unrelated drives, but I don't trust them lol.

May be some days until that though.
