Reporting Forithow, abusing powers

In the game (under chiquitabanana name), I was using pirate sound, not spamming it, just typing it in intervals. Other people were also doing it. An even some mod or admin played full song at one point. And out of nowhere forithow says he's gonna mute me because he hates that sound. There isn't a rule about that and I told him that and he said that he doesn't care. Then I said I'm going to report him if he threatens me and here I go. He probably took my sound rights. When I type things, it doesn't make a sound anymore. He shouldn't be able to act on his own interests like that. He's abusing his mod powers. I can't believe what a poopy mod he is.

I vaguely remember a game where people were doing this about half a year ago and it upset a lot of people, me included. We all reported them to the mods and they didn't do anything, the idiots kept spamming the pirate song and other stuff and the only 'advice' I got from one of those mods was to disable the sounds lol.

 

Yeah proves how they don't really know what they're doing and moderate depending on the mood they are. Just like how Manuel banned that guy for RoF but when people complain about TB on certain people around here that I won't name, they just tell US to get the proof instead.

There was a chance you wouldn't see this post. So other people also see what kind of a mod he is? Manuel does this pirate thing all the time. But Forithow doesn't have the balls to mute him. But he thinks he has the right to do it to regular people without powers.

@Forithow I'm overreacting because you act like you're above the rules just because you're a moderator. If you act like that even for such a small problem, I can't imagine what you would do when a bigger problem (which you think is a problem) arises. I mean, i told you to stop spamming the pirate, as well as sharky89, you guys disobeyed a moderator, so I did 3 minute mute as punishment like as a timeout, not everyone was enjoying it such as AprilWar GenMayhem and Jarjar. Also, manny is an admin, moderator powers can't really do much against an admin.

I didn't act like I was above the rules just because I'm a moderator, 3 other people were complaining as well as me and you didn't see them so I acted on their behalf. All you did was just narrowed down to me because I'm a moderator.

EDIT: Goes to show that people like you want to throw everything they can at a mod to get them demodded.

She said she was doing it periodically, the stuff that happened back then was spam for about 20 minutes straight. Not saying you shouldn't mute people that abuse it, but a normal warning would suffice. If not then mute them, not straight away. Unless it's spam ofcourse.

People were complaining about full pirate song, not about our sounds and I feel like Manuel was the one who was playing that song, but I could be wrong though. I typed second time, no sound again. Third time, no sound again. Someone typed "ow" and it made a sound. I tried typing that and there wasn't a sound then either. I thought I was muted or my sound rights were taken away. So I came here to report you. I'm not trying to get you demodded. You said people were complaining ( I think complaint was for the full song though), but the reason for muting me in game was "you" being sick of hearing it. So that's why I brought up the old "mods do whatever they want" thing. Don't make up new rules from your buns on your own, then there won't be a prejudice against mods. I think we also need to define what a spam is first. Maybe then everything will be settled.

@Sheila So uh, why are you trying to change your story about what happened? You did the pirate thing at 22:04, no sound because someone did "boink2", then you did pirate, IMMEDIATELY genmayhem typed !disablesounds in teamchat as a reaction to YOU. Then sharky started spamming it, AprilWar wondering who played it (turns out Furinkazan played the full song, I didn't realise), sharky does it again, AprilWar complains and tried looking for mods afterwards, then I complain, you tried to do pirate again, jarjar thinks the server was hacked (funny lol) and AprilWar accused me of using the pirate song when I never did and then Jarjar said "how to get other ppl to other servers (cough)", then you did the pirate thing AGAIN, I told you and sharky to stop. Sharky does it anyway, so I muted him, then you did it again anyway just after I typed "i don't fucking care", so I muted you. After a few minutes, I deleted Sharky's mute and your mute and then you left. You never said you were going to report me. I believe pirate was played like 7 times in a span of 4 minutes from you and Sharky, yeah, that's "periodically" to you apparently

Sorry Sheila but I support Forithow with this. I absolutely despise the sounds and have !disablesounds on.

I know that other people like using them and that's fine, but if they're being used in excess then that ruins our players gameplay.

Every now and then is ok, but if people are moaning about it, it is not ok to continue spamming it, especially after being asked by a moderator to cease, as the moderator shouldn't have even needed to interject, had you listened to your fellow players.

Forithow was responding to complaints by players because you and that guys actions were annoying them whilst they were playing here in rencorner. 

The action that Forithow took was mild, compared to what actions have been previously taken in the past.

Like you said AprilWar complained after the full song. And jarjar also thinks the server was hacked because of the FULL SONG. Also did I type pirate 7 times or is it the count of everyone's "pirate"s? But those reactions doesn't actually matter anyway as I. was. not. spamming. it. I. did. nothing. wrong. Was it a dickish move? Maybe for some. But was it against the rules? No. How about making a rule stating "only one pirate in 10 minutes" instead of threatening people of muting? I don't have any obligation to act in a certain way other than following the rules.

Jarjar however, played it a few seconds after the full song was played, so I apologise for that.

You also didn't read that I said "pirate was played 7 times in a span of 4 minutes from you and Sharky", also it is in the server rules to " Follow any direction given to you by an identified moderator.  " from:

and you and sharky failed to follow my direction, the penalty was very minuscule (literally a 2 minute mute, that's it). It wasn't just about you.

Therefore, I deem this topic as petty and I wish it could be locked, please.

We allow fake beacons, but not constant spamming(4-5 really fast is considered spam).

When you become an irritation to others, regardless of scale of your involvement you're a troll.  People were clearly expressing that they were bothered by sounds and you went out of your way to continue.

You'll notice the second rule there says no spamming beacons; nowhere in our rules do we explicitly state that you can't sound spam a beacon, yet everyone knows that kind of things is extremely irritating and will get you kicked.  Not everything has to be technically specified.

Lastly and really most significant for both the fact that is a technical (which you seem to be set on defining) violation and an example of your attitude:

ForItHow had just muted someone else (Sharky) for pirate spam; you respond as above, and then go on to do !pirate afterwards.  Blatantly disregarding the moderator.  At that point I don't care if you hadn't used !pirate at all up until this point.   Once a moderator steps in on behalf of others players and you continue the behavior that's been identified just because there's no explicit rule against it; you're trolling. 

 

Having said that; and having experienced extreme sound spam on many occasions, I do think ForitHow was quick to mute.  An official !warn would have been nice, but life is not a textbook situation. 

You are entitled to no more than you got.  Which was only a short enforced silence on behalf of our other players.

You're right in mentioning that others do it as well, mods included; but it still doesn't excuse you.  Lots of speeding drivers every day, someone gets picked out of the crowd.

The Server rules are not there to prescribe what every player (ahemNoddie44) can or cannot do.  They are there as a basis to ensure that players can come into the server and have fun.

It just really makes all of you bunch of hypocrites allowing for mods, admins to do it but not for regular players. Therefore sorry but I can't take your statements seriously. You're right. Lots of speeding drivers every day, and sometimes someone gets picked out of the crowd when they're not even exceeding the speed limit. There are times where we all go crazy doing sounds and whatever in the game, usually those times are when they all want to join in. We can't have a crystal clear rule on that; the situation changes all the time. That pirate one does get annoying sometimes(especially when you're trying to find a nuke), other times it's just fun to fuck around.

After your PM I spoke with Fori, I asked him to mute his sounds. There were some other things I said to him regarding all of this as well(he knows what I am talking about). You didn't need to make this topic; it was handled before I even replied to your PM(once I was done looking through logs and talking to him). That was why I asked you why you made this.
