Unsure how to diagnose, cant see server list

What is everyone else using to connect to the servers with? What "should" I use to retrieve server list? I reinstalled https://www.tiberiantechnologies.org/downloads

For the last several years I was just using the "retro" launcher off the CD install, but for the last week or so, when getting to the "requesting server list" screen, it times out. I dont get to the "login" or "location" screens. Now, it worked yesterday after a while so I dont know what is going on.

Is the DoS/DDoS disruption by that asshat causing this? Is he attacking everything or is it something on MY end?

I suspect it is me because when I finally got to join, and could see all servers, there was already a RENCORNER game in progress with almost 40 players.

I pinged the server address listed in the forums and everything was fine. Unsure what to do next. I did a /flushdns the first time it happened and I was able to log in

you can also use w3dhub when renlist is down

I use the RenList launcher. For me, even in the event the master peer is offline any servers I favorite are still listed. Not sure if that will resolve any of your issues though.

You could also just create custom shortcut to the game executable with the switches to manually connect to what ever server IP you wanted.

Alternative workaround, thanks QJ for the help!

I also use Renlist and have Rencorner servers favorites. Rarely run into any issues with connecting!

Try clearing your dns cache like you said you already did might want to try using google dns 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 or cloudflare 1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1. Alternatively you could add the gsa clone servers to your hosts file then renlist wont look at internet to resolve the domains.

162.248.88.129 master-gsa.renlist.n00b.hk
162.248.88.129 renmaster.cncirc.net
144.202.38.108 renmaster-backup.cncirc.net
176.31.21.190 renlist.w3dhub.com

renlist uses master-gsa.renlist.n00b.hk which is an alias for renmaster.cncirc.net
