vlatkozelka Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 (video has no gore or blood, just the explosion from multiple angles) As some of you know a huge explosion took place at the Beirut port last Tuesday, and so far it had claimed the lives of 100+ people, with 80 people reported missing, thousands of injured people (a lot of very sever cases), and almost 250000 people were left homeless The shock wave had a direct hit radius of 8Km, meaning anything in that radius was completely destroyed, and nearly 20Km of indirect damage (broken glass, doors, walls, etc...), those are homes you can't live in anymore, or at least need restoration. There's glass on the ground pretty much everywhere, even outside the 20km radius. Everyone felt like the explosion happened right in their neighborhood, it was that bad! Even the bombs from the 2006 war with Israel didn't feel that violent. Luckily my house had minor damage, some door hinges went bad (still attached though), and one window broke, nothing that we couldn't fix right the next day. @jayz works at the port, his office is like a few hundred meters away from the explosion, but fortunately he and his team mates left early on that day, and were not harmed (the office basically disappeared though) @bibo and @Jawnz live far away from the explosion, they felt it, but no damage there. @Dreadwar and @radiofm left the country long ago. My family's house, which I only moved out from a month or so ago, was also fortunately untouched. (some explain this to be because the mentioned houses are on the other side of a hill, so in a way the shock wave bounced above our houses...) My flatmate is a manager at a bar in Armenia street, also known as Mar Michael street , a street known for hosting many bars in Beirut. All the bars were completely annihilated + his room suffered the most damage (mine was completely untouched, go figure). Lucky for him though, due to covid-19, they closed shop like 2 days prior, and he wasn't there, or he'd been kafta today... 2 of my team mates from work happened to be driving near the area (the explosion is at the port, but the port itself is near a lot bars restaurants and such). I can't post a picture of the car, cause it's too bloody. 1 of my friends had to do a surgery for his eye, and has a high chance of fully recovering sight in it, with some chance to lose most of his sight in his right eye 😕 The other person had to get 70 stitches in their arm, and some for their head. They are mostly fine now, hopefully my friend's eye fully recovers. Anyway I just wanted to let you know that the Lebanese people on this forum (that I know of at least) are ok 🙂 As far as play time goes, well it's not renegade in particular, for some reason I've been more outgoing lately, rather than sitting at home playing games... well at least before all of the places I go to were blown into pieces  8
Joetorp Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 OMG, Vlat, I am happy you didn't get hurt. I heard they arrested 16 people so far...If they are guilty, they deserve to be shot! Â
