What happened to Renegade?

Well theres a reason jelly died and not rencorner

the server was unplayable at times, the lag was awful

Yeah it's pretty much as ehh said. like the last, what, half a year before their closure? they had major lag on their server that was left unresolved + they got really lazy when it comes to hiring new mods. I remember the last spoonplex commemoration event they held, they barely got any players at the beginning.

 

also @AprilWarrenforums supposedly is coming back. I actually was somehow the first person to browse and find a forum post on n00bstories, from may this year, by speedy059, mentioning how he forgot about hosting renegadeforums at all when he turned off his server. http://www.n00bstories.com/forums/index.php?t=msg&th=15584&start=0&rid=0
I shared my finding on the W3D hub discord and then made sure speedy knew about the events by contacting him on another platform. he and crimson should be in contact now. I don't really know anything else.

RenX was really fun in the alpha stages, when it was basically a remake of renegade, on a new engine
Personally I think it failed when it started adding stuff. That's when the old ren players started quitting.

If they got rid of the annoying sprint mechanic then I would like it that little bit more.

meh the things they added were just terrible for gameplay, tactical nukes and that outpost shit were bad imo

the tanks and movement were janky, but no surprise since it was janky in UT also

u can say renx is trash or good, it still did a lot of dmg to our playerbase

MOP030B is the standard nickname from the russian pirate repack of renegade and other games from the releaser MOP030B. All new Russian players were banned the first time they started the game, if they did not change their nickname. Nah IA is the only garbage one. RenX is fine IMO but IA is worse than even MPF, It should be removed from W3D Hub and renlist so people forget about it. Lets split the player base of 50 people into 3+ servers. Big brain btw

I say while ever Rencorner is still here, Renegade will be here. I used to play Renegade a lot back in the Jelly days but I've been absent for years....but it doesn't mean I won't ever stop playing it. I think having more events or having certain game mechanics changed for over the weekend (not all the time) to spice things up for players.
