Sad to necro a post, but I suppose all old renegade posts are necros at this point.

Hearing about some of these server deaths, even now, has been interesting.  I was writing a niche article a while after the lobby server "handoff from the developer to the fans" happened.  Or so they had wanted it phrased.. We all know that's PR fluff at it's fluffiest, but I digress.  One major question I couldn't track down maybe one of you can answer: Who the absolute hell was Schala?

It's a name that came up across the players and server mods I spoke to back then, but I never ran into them and didn't have the time to sit in server rooms to hope a ghost appears.  All I know is some general notes - they were a popular mod for a while among marathon players as they were "always available/no off hours", they kept in touch with other server mods to handle inter-server drama, they "probably knew who was doing what", and vanished shortly before some of the servers started dramatically imploding.  Since I couldn't talk to them directly, all of that is with a grain of salt this many years later, but who knows.  Maybe someone remembers.

Haha I didn't even realize other folks found out Yonegga was cheating in Xphaze. 

I remember after asking him to test and post screenshots (I think he had pistolwhipped me around a corner while he was trying to shoot someone else), he actually posted screenshots of him using bighead lol. I pointed it out and immediately got permabanned from everything Xphaze related. :(
