Is there anything I can do to save my old Renegade Videos?

Look how they massacred my boy!

Ive noticed as Youtube grows larger a lot of the videos I made on my channel slowly lose their quality. I have only a handful of videos I made myself way back in the day and some I saved from Got2bRoni on this old youtube channel. Its slowly deteriorating into oblivion. I have about 40 videos from the old RA and NoN00bs Archive still saved on my computer from way back in the day. Is there any steps I can take to bring back the resolution to these old videos or do I have to reupload them entirely? Ive already fought the fight to put new music over the original music I had in place of this. Why is the quality slowly deteriorating?

I didn't know that was a thing at quality dissipating on youtube. I don't know if any of mine ever did, had to remove them from youtube last year due to some cunt reporting the naked pt skins(just said fuck it and removed all).

If it were me, and I really wanted to know: go into the Studio part and Edit to look at one's details. See if the HD is there.

Alternatively, download your account and/or videos and look there. Click your account profile > "your data in youtube > can do it there.

Do they play at a decent quality on your own machine, WMP, or something?

if they do, you could be “re-record” them hoping they retain quality in a newer format.

I think its probably it doesn't look as bad on an "old" monitor, but now everyone has at least 1080p monitors the pixels are more apparent

YouTube's algorithm is changing tons. There is more rules than you had at school.

@aRGHathol

If you are going to restore your videos then you are going to need some good video editing software. I found this site https://www.dvdfab.cn/resource/video/video-restoration but there will be tons more out there. It's best to do your own research to pick the best one for yourself.

Also with the world apocalypse out there, yes YT has lowered default quality due to this. Further reading can be found here

Hope this helps.

I totally forgot about the articles I was reading the other day: clicky clicky2

I don't know if that stuff is still in effect.
