Played some random maps recently on the server. It was nice to see something new. Starting a poll to see if others would want to see more maps added.

Heck yeah I wanted to see C&C_Terrace.mix and C&C_Mines.mix to be added to the rotation. Maybe a few others.

Let's test the waters.

Yeah mines made it to the rotation a few years ago and it was quite fun in large player count. I'd be down to shake up the rotation once more

I'm down for new maps although I just played both of them and they are just not it chief, I would leave instantly if I saw these in rotation.

It's a toss. Most of all new maps overwhelmingly favor Nod. It's hard to find good balanced maps.

Nod only won C&C Mines last night as GDI was basically afk (including me), it was quite a fair match because there are 3 narrow passages stanks can go down, with 2 base entrances, so they're harder to hide and easier to defend against. Can also have lookouts, which is how we stopped about 5 rushes with a PIC and sniper alerting everyone.

I did not play this map (as far as I remember), but while scouting for stanks do you have time to initiate attacks on Nod base? Like in city where GDI sometimes are so busy looking for stanks they don't have time to pose any threat to nod which leads to more stanks and at the end GDI loses.

Isn't Mines one of those maps where GDI can basically shoot hon and ref right at their entrance?

Well, depends how offensive your team is... If the game is played aggressively, which it has to be in small games to win at all, then everyone will be attacking via all entrances and the stanks will be easily spotted, or it's just a race to destroy the other's buildings, which is quite fair. With large player numbers (20+), this won't be an issue. Could also monitor mine numbers with a row for each entrance and alert when the count goes down, with one or two defending. It's a pretty small map.

I'd vote to scrap City in favour of this map any day.

GDI can b2b, yes. Not sure about Nod.

Mines is nonsense (and every other map w recon bikes except Niagra). All it takes is one guy that knows what he's doing to incessantly harass GDI w recons to keep the entire team busy and crippled to offense. Niagra has the well balance thing with the fast GDI TOW humvees, making it balanced. Also, mammies and mlrs dominate the underpass.

There's 2 types of maps in the rotation, the permanent fixtures (Field, island, Under, Walls...) and the rotating ones like bio, niagra, siege, sands and so on. The latter ones are usually less balanced and not as liked as the former. When we shuffle the rotation, we usually just move around a bit the permanent fixtures but also add/remove the rotating ones that we have a pool of. It's just a way of making things "fresh" again rather than putting them all in the rotation at the same time.

Bio is part of those maps and looking at the current rotation there's a few others that we could put up (Metro, creekdale, mines, niagra).

There's also a few odd ones like fjord, cairo, mars, meadows, backstabb, hangmans... I know some of them are either broken, unpopular or are downright imba so they rarely make it to the rotation but it can be refreshing.

Haven't played niagra in so long. Please remove Deth River and the shitty one where you go ref to ref with buggies and vees spawning constantly. They're really badly designed. Replace them with niagra(possibly) and creekdale(or flying). You should also consider adding Whoreglass Flying, it seems like a nice map and I think I only played it on the map pack server over a decade ago.

How often do those get rotated? I think sand is a popular map and should probably stay longer, siege as well. But the other maps that you mentioned could be rotated more often.

It's supposed to be updated every few months, when things stagnate... There's no real timeline.

Sand is really a divisive map, some players hate it for sure, that's why it's frequently in-n-out of the rotation. Same for niagra and creekdale flying (I'm a big fan of creekdale but lots of people rage because of the bushes everywhere). As for Siege, AFAIK it was still buggy at the doors unless blacky fixed it?

I think Metro would be a good add to the next rotation as well, it's been a while

Someone could edit creekdale and remove the bushes, I don't think it's that hard. The map is really nice and should always be in rotation.

Metro is kinda off, the map can easily be ended within the first few minutes. Nod has a huge advantage over GDI since the AGT is beyond useless and the obby shoots all the way to the front of the GDI entrance.

I didn't say it was balanced, just that it's not *that* bad. As a matter of fact I think creekdale is way more imba than Metro

i like sand, sure it has its haters but is always 20 mins only, its just a nice change of things to just do infwar for 20 min i think.

pls recommend good new maps, Mines and Terrace are just so flawed I could write a paragraph as to why I'd just rather not. REMOVE FIELD AND UNDER :)
