Gobi Balancing with Tanks

Last night Nod took down the GDI bar by having a walking nuke INSIDE a light tank. Light tank was near bar, and the "walking" nuke easily got the building. Is there a way to make sure it just technically cannot happen? Like permanently disabling the nuke when its carrier enters a vehicle or something?

Furthermore, how about limiting the tanks a team may get from !tank command to 3 or something? We all know Renegade=Tank game, but this map is designed to be infantry only, I think that more than 3 tanks screw the balance too much.

I thought the tanks were in there as a joke temporary, didn't know they were still there. The nukes are fine bc 9/10 people die with it anyways.

Would you want to limit tanks for all maps or just for Gobi in particular? I don't think Gobi should even have tanks on it anyway so I'd just disable the tanks on that map, it is an infantry only map like you said

Did this really happens? Tanks on an DM match only?

That's funny lol. You should just remove them. It'd be slightly upset if I made a DM match, then people added tanks to it. Defeats the purpose.

Then again, I dislike DM matches!

Just remove tanks altogether from Gobi? It's like having tanks on Sand...

There is already a limit to number of vehicles. I suggested decreasing it for Gobi.

But I do think they serve a purpose. The first half of the match is inf only. At about 20 minutes in, when there is enough money for 1-2 players, tanks start to roll in and the players have to adjust (buying PICs/raves). It gives diversity from having only snipers and a few hotties/techs.

just set time limit to 30 mins, no need for tanks or walking nuke crates

Sand flying would be pretty cool, although the map is too small in large lobbies.

Nah, the tanks are perma and they are set into their bases now which is fine
but its super easy now to get a nuke crate go in a tank and easy building kill now

Tanks are good on Gobi. Just restrict walking nukes from entering vehicles. Remove oasis and bring back sand.

Rotation needs to be changed honestly, need to put in some new maps, just to spice things up a bit

Are the tanks still bugged on the map? I remember someone a while back bought a tank for GDI and it spawned for nod and vice versa.

Which would you guys rather have on Gobi: !tank or walking nuke crate? They were added to try to make the map less of a grind-fest(else it'd be one more removed map since most people hate it and scream, since it's a sniper map).

Keep tanks as it helps balance out the snerips. Remove Oasisis and bring back sand.

It's only a snipe-grind fest when marathon or long time limits. Just set the timer to like 20 mins, and call it a day! All DM style maps should have lower time limits than AOW matches.

Yes Gobi should never be mara but a 20 min timer for sniper map is good, tanks aren't needed. Also remove Oasis and bring back Sand :)

I’m always promoting fan maps, but Oasis Flying was a bold move on RC’s part!

For your population and community, lot of better choices out there that would suit this server better.

Throwing another idea in here, I had some fun with hourglass flying (which is not hourglass with air units, it's completely different) in the anniversary server.

I wouldn't mind replacing Oasis_Flying with Hourglass_Flying tbh
