iK4l3l Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 i ran wise registery cleaner and auslogics disc defrag tools yesterday.. and now whenever i click a server to join on renlist i get an error message.. it seems everythingworks fine, it still launches the game.. but i just get this annoying error popup on screenshot below.. any ideas how to fix it? thx.. screenshot -----> http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/4985/screenshot001vhu.jpg
BillieJoe67 Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Renlist is trying to find your game.exe from the ressurection registry path, which I presume the cleaner cleaned. If you click Settings->Options, you can set "renegade executable" to the path of game.exe (the screenshot shows selecting game2.exe)

Joetorp Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 If the registry cleaner made a backup before it cleaned, restore it, otherwise use system restore. Joe
dronez4 Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 ok i would suggest do 1 of the following... try open game2.exe without using renlist... or u can download these files... these are my 4.0 dlls.. http://www.2shared.com/file/gfnCCZO2/dlls.html make a backup of u ren folder, 'ALWAYS DO THAT' then put these in your ren folder.. then run game.exe or game2.exe If none of these work at all, id suggest a Clean Install. ive had a few Problems where ur .dlls get corrupted and create errors..
iK4l3l Posted February 23, 2013 Author Posted February 23, 2013 link isnt working dronez, can u post again?
iK4l3l Posted February 23, 2013 Author Posted February 23, 2013 solved! i restored wise registery cleaner and it is ok now..
iK4l3l Posted February 23, 2013 Author Posted February 23, 2013 now i need to re-run registery cleaner by ignoring the renegade folder, gonna try to figure out how.
Joetorp Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Use this: http://www.macecraft.com/ It is a more honest registry cleaner than wise. Try smart defrag http://www.iobit.com/products.php Joe
