Haha 😄 i know everyone was into making sniping videos back in the day. Quick YouTube search brings up hundreds of us from 15 years ago. Name changes might mean some of those people are still active in here already. . I'm assuming you. .

What i currently see is even on the original maps. The example video i posted where everything is how i remember it, what i see now is almost like a wallpaper over portions of the buildings and map itself. Like very large posters of gdi and nod logos over strange parts of the buildings. Like the weapons factory instead of having something that looks like the original walls looks like a giant gdi billboard on the back of it now furthest from agt. Then inside of the building it's got something that looks like a striped carpet as the floor lol. It's very strange. 

I went to the website that has the four steps to getting renegade installed and just clicked through those 4 steps to get the patches and what not. I am pretty sure it clicked on all the most recent patches. There's nothing else that has come more recently then that to download correct?

That's very strange, something is wrong with your installation. The movie you posted earlier is the way Ren was always and still is looking for me. You need an expert.

I bought a new laptop 3 weeks ago, without a cd drive either.

You can download the original disk images here (and thank mass for the link), in fact, I think only the installation disk is needed. With windows 10, you can easily mount it as a virtual cd drive (no need in fancy external programs to do that anymore) by right clicking the ISO file -> mount. At the virtual CD drive, run setup.exe as administrator (right click the file -> run as administrator). Install using your original CD key.

Patch with latest scripts, you should be good to go with renlist or using direct connection as Sheila described.

 

Edit: I just realized you have your Ren on Origin so I'm not sure if you have your original CD key to use this method.

So here's what happened. When i went to install the game (using old cds) it stopped at 33% installation and just froze. Then there was a pop up saying that it couldn't read the disk, so i took it out and worked my 90s magic on it and it then began to download the files again. But i noticed it skipped right from 33% to 36%. Like boom. I thought maybe it was strange but i moved on. Is it possible that it would still finish the installation skipping over files? 

I've come to the conclusion that I'm probably just fine with it anyway as there's no other issues with the game itself. Just reminds me of one of those goofy skins that i used to make anyway. Lol. But i do wonder if that could be my issue.

I don't think it's related but who knows. See my additional post above yours for the cd images and instructions, maybe you'll change your mind about reinstalling in the future.
