Add Recon Bikes and Missile Humvee to all maps

I think the map was called Deth_River. Both your server and MPF server have this map, except MPF's version has recon bikes and rocket humvees. You guys might as well add those units to your version of the map. It was fun as hell playing on MPF with those two extra units. Your map Niagara also has those units but they handle much differently (plus the humvee is missing a texture) so they are not as fun to use, although it is fun to pop wheelies on the bike.

Take the Recon Bike and Rocket Humvee stats and graphics from the MPF Deth_River map and port them to every single map in rotation and you will have fun. Or at least I will. Been playing this game on and off for almost 15 years, am so bored with the vehicle roster, been wanting to drive the god damn bike on a consistent basis ever since Renegade came out. Bike is part of the game, part of Nod's roster, iconic unit from source material (the original C&C game) both the bike and the rocket humvee will not affect overall balance, not really.

Oh hell yeah but I'm saying the Recon Bikes should be properly integrated with Nod's vehicle roster. And the TOW Humvee for GDI too, 'cause if Nod gets an old new toy then GDI should get something equivalent.

Hey Blacky have you had any experience testing large scale matches (20 v 20) on maps like Under with Recon Bikes? I was talking to a guy named ||DANTE|| and he was saying they are a bit overpowered. I'm not seeing his logic though and he couldn't elaborate. I'm trying to picture how the Recon Bike would adversely affect gameplay in maps like Under. A bike rush would get decimated if there were any tanks flanking the AGT. Occasionally a couple would get thru, zip right by to the back of the base but that's why you mine the base and have guys defending in close quarters map like that to check for SBH beacon attempts. Nothing has changed.

MPF server at one point had the Recon Bike and Rocket Humvee properly integrated into all the original maps. I don't know why they recently removed them. During my time playing on those maps the additional units were fine, barely affected mainstream balance. Until someone says otherwise I don't see a reason not to include these units that most players are already familiar with.

The speed of the recons and hummers to some extent, negates the base defenses. I also have said in game several times that the vehicles are overpowered depending on the maps because of the speed and narrow profile of their bodies. They can take 1 directly hit from even the obby and still have 50 hp left. Me, still getting used to playing these new maps, not sure what the name of it is but there's a long tunnel mountain underpass between the power plants and a narrow field area between obelisk and agt. It's the map where Sakura and havoc are unavailable to buy. I learned after about the first two times playing it all you need to do is just buy a recon or hummer constantly and just keep rushing. Soon as you find any opening in the field you are guaranteed to make it at least to a building as if there were no base defenses on the map at all. You can't do the same things with other vehicles like the apc simply because they are not fast enough. You can literally drive circles around tanks on the way by and just keep going like they weren't even there in some circumstances. 

And yeah it's fun. Nothing wrong with doing that. But it absolutely does negate base defenses especially in games with smaller player count which most of the time is the case. What it does is allow the one man Rambo army even on base defense maps. 

All those points above end up happening anyway to a degree just based off of everyone still playing knows all the tricks to the game and are generally skilled players. So maybe for this particular server it ends up being moot anyway.

Bikes, buggies and hummers are in the same category of fast attack units. Yes there are slight differences but their functionalities are about the same. This means any strategies for stopping buggy rushes apply to bike or rocket hummer rushes too. Buggy rushes are the same as bike rushes except they're cheaper. Both can negate base defenses. Speaking from experience, we played the map Complex with bikes and rocket hummers and it played almost the same as without. We also played the map Canyon with those units as well as with an Obelisk and an AGT. Neither Bikes nor rocket hummers contributed to winning strategies, they were just other toys to play with. The map City with bikes and rocket hummers also played good. Walls too. Same with Under. I've tried them all over at MPF years back with 40+ players and it all seemed fine, a natural and lore friendly addition to the gameplay sandbox. I still don't see a reason not to include these units that most players are already familiar with and have wanted to use for a long time.

Bikes handle differently in almost all maps they are implemented in. I think the most balanced Bike is on the map Deth_River. $500, it turns stiffer so it doesn't spin out of control, it's health is just right and it's attack damage is fair. Problem is your server doesn't have them in the purchase menu so we can't test it thoroughly.

I picked up a random vehicle crate on Under_RxD and got a Bike. It handled perfectly, much better than it did on Niagara or some of those custom maps on the MPF server. It turns stiff so you don't spin out of control, has 150 health & armor so it doesn't die instantly, and it's rockets seemed to do less damage than Stealth Tanks but still enough to help out on the field. ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM! Was fun as hell just driving around the map taking pot shots at tanks, trying to squish hotties, supporting the arties at the frontline, etc. When the AGT went down I zipped thru the GDI base once with some stealth tanks causing havoc till Havoc almost killed me and so we had to retreat. Back at the frontline I popped out of the bike to repair an APC and I got sniped like a bitch. Then the APC I was repairing blew up my bike lol. Was so mad.

That could always be edited by the RC group if they wanted to.

Exactly. Having a balanced Recon Bike is feasible, someone just has to do it. I've modded C&C games before, Tiberian Sun especially. But I'm new to Renegade modding. I think each map needs to be edited; you can't make sweeping changes across the board with an .ini file like in TS, in Ren you have to edit specific map files. The bike you get from the crate on the RxD maps seems just as balanced as the one that is supposed to be on Deth_River. I talked to a guy yesterday, he said the rencorner server used to have bikes on that map. What happened? Who wet the bed?

@Manuel857 lol it was late at night and there were only like two guys playing on RenCorner. APB's server had like 4 guys AND over 10 fully functional bot players on each team. These bots buy vehicles and even repair buildings when you tell them to with radio commands! You gotta admit that is really cool. Those two guys aimlessly dicking around by themselves on RenCorner were missing out. So I reached out to them with a friendly gesture. I'm sure their psyches were not damaged from my usage of that adorable word. There's no need to mute me son, you're over reacting. Why the hell did you post that here anyways? That's completely off topic lol.

Abyways the people saying bikes are OP are over reacting too. They're just bikes lol. Make sure they turn stiff, don't go too fast and don't do too much damage and bada bing bada boom, Nod's iconic unit is back! Next up... SSM launcher lol. Now THAT unit would be hard to balance.
