Rotation and new map ideas

hourglass is even more horrible than under when your team is refusing to teamplay and after a couple of months most people will hate it, but it´s a very nostalgic map so we could have it until eventually hates it again

Personally I would take the standard maps for the yellow maps. And I would add hourglass with a time limit. It's actually a decent map with a time limit. I remember epic flame rushes over the hill.

If these are the only problems remaining I propose shai takes the final decisions and gives this rotation a try.

Not wanting to push things here, but the current rotation has a big problem, being the fact a LOT of fanmaps follow eachother, especially at the end. It's 4 or 5 fanmaps in a row. Rencorner was always been known to me to have a mix of standard with some fanmaps and that's what I like about it.

I think they just threw a bunch of the suggested fan maps in to see what people liked. It’s a temp rotation I believe.

Yes I recognize this but maybe by now everyone got the chance to test it and we can get a more permanent rotation again.

Added that yesterday, rebooted the server when it was empty.

 

You guys need to find a spot for the fieldflying...since it had more votes.

I think the rotation is nice now. Just a small thingy: canyon_rxd and canyon seem to follow eachother (see blue underneath). I would take out canyon_rxd there as we already have it in the 1st rotation.

I'm also wondering: could we replace one of the Under maps with the new Under sucks map? It would require some testing first, but I read there is a playable version now.

i´ve seen the server was pretty empty the last 2-3 times when temple was on, can anybody check if that´s statistical anomaly or if there is a trend there? i´ve seen it played with more than 20 people only once so far. might need to get rid of that if players still reject it so hard that it kills the server. issue is with the type and amount of towers it also takes a while to end the map, so let´s say it´s a 2v2 you can´t end the map in like 5 min at all, it will always take pretty long.

foris maps are all pretty decent imo, people disliking those maps should at least point out what they dislike about the maps. in some instances it feels like people are just hating for the sake of hating. they also don´t seem to empty out the server, we had a 40 people iceberg yesterday.

this part of the rotation could be improved imo, under got voted yesterday cause arid before already took a while, i imagine iceberg does aswell. and then after under you get field, which doesn´t have base defense in this version but is still a map that plays campy and takes a while, espescially if the server is full. if you play all these maps out on a full server on the weekend, you´re probably looking at 8.-10 hours to get through those 5 maps, i think there needs to be something quicker in between. personally i´d just get rid of arid completely as i don´t like it at all but you could also just add a face paced map between arid and under. potentially even one of the inf only maps with 20 or 30 min time limit.

 

btw what happened to time limits, they still seem broken on the server right now. i hope somebody is trying to fix it :)

okay removed the back to back canyon maps and i added bunkersTS in between Arid and Under for now. We can always change stuff again

As for the timelimits, not sure what happened that it's currently only set to marathon mode. Maybe shaitan did it by accident when he played with the rotation.

 

Also tbh, I prefer our old rotation before we started adding all these new shitty maps.

thanks. i´m all for mixing it up but eventually we should get rid of some of those maps that don´t do well and polish the rotation that i´d say is in a tryout stage. yesterday we played temple in a 10v10 and i asked if anyone likes this map and no one said he does.

 

also regarding timelimits it is not mara only, sometimes we get weird time limits like 5 min, 17 min, 37 min etc. the inf only maps don´t have time limits on them currently.

When's Hourglass coming back? Better than Field and Under. Also remove all time limits and enable !vote nextmap please :)

Yeah, or block hillcamping by putting up invisible barriers in front of the PP and Ref, or just ban it and enforce it.

I'm under the impression that LostTemple_K1 gets skipped quite often. Same for Creekdale_flying. Maybe Shai can objective this with logs.

I'd like to propose we swap Creekdale_flying with Hourglass timed (30 or 45 minutes). IMO hourglass should never be marathon but I set the map a few days ago and it was actually a fun game.

I'd like to propose we swap Under with Under sucks to try this map (it was posted above).

LostTemple_K1 should be replaced with a rush map. I'd say either Tomb or Bio because both are in the rotation only once and they're both good maps.

tomb is more popular by the player pool i´d say.

 

we can do hourglass but it´s not in the rotation anymore for a reason, people usually grow to hate it really fast. but we can get rid of it again when that happens

I think all OG ren maps need to stay in server, but 1 version. IDC personally if it's RXD or vanilla. could get rid of fieldb3/bunkersts/crevasse/lost temple/atoll/greenery/bio. I agree with adding under sucks too.
