XtremePro Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 Awesome videos! Genuinely enjoyed watching them. Thanks to all newcomers today! We actually had enough for 6v6. MM23 and opstorm joined us. The 6v6 were a blast. They're a bit chaotic but that makes it fun. Later on in the night we played some 3v3s. crushu, myself, solidgold vs pyr0, inspect, ILL. All great games. I realy think in smaller games people are learning a ton. It's one of those things that the more you do it, the better and better you understand how the game flows and what to do when. Field was a classic. Nod has the first advantage until they lose the field, then it's nearly impossible to take it back. We were lucky to fend off the first med tank rush pretty well and get back out there soon enough to hold the Field again. Thanks again to everyone who played. Thanks for recording those gozy!
XtremePro Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 (edited) Here's some food for thought on mining. At least in smaller games. Instead of mining each building, my thought process is to mine the main entry points. So on Islands, I typically try to throw 4 mines at each side of the tunnels making a total of 16 mines. Then I try and throw 1 infront of the back and front door of ref, making 18. At strip I throw 2 mines infront of the door, making 20. At HON I try and throw 3 infront of each door making a total of 26 total mines. If you hit the END key, it shows how many mines are planted. So if all of the sudden you hit END and it's only showing 22 mines out of 26, that means someone is at your tunnel disarming or running through. Then if you lose another 2, that means that person is in your airstrip. If you lost 1 mine on top of the 4, that means they're in the ref. Or if you don't lose the 4 to begin with but lose the other denomination, that means the person went long way and didn't clear mines at tunnels. This helps keep track of exactly where someone is when you're running tunnels. If I happen to get into the other base, I'll know to send the word out to someone in the field to get back and save the building in base while I try and kill a building. Also, I don't do all of this in one throw. I'll do a portion of it and run tunnels, and do another portion when I respawn. The goal is to try and keep track of where their tunnel nominated player is. By mining infront of doors, you can spawn, look around and know almost exactly where someone is. Like I said, it's not always perfect, but this gives you guys an idea of how we used to look at it when we actually played league. Super rusty still but it's coming back slowly! Same strategy can be used on Tomb. Also, on maps like Walls Fly, I'll usually try to throw one infront of all the ramps and doors. That way if an SBH were to plant, you can basically look at all the ramps and know instantly if the nuke is on top of a building and which building. If a stank sneaks by, he'll have to pop 1 mine to go into a building, so theoretically, the orca and fly back and find where they are quickly. Not sure I should be telling you guys all my secrets, but hey, we're all here to learn and have fun! Edited July 10, 2023 by XtremePro 2

Kingoberv Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 Wish i coulda been around yesterday for the funwars. We could have gotten the split screen footage done but Damm. Had an emergency call into work that screwed the whole day. Looks like you still got some good stuff though gozy, today I'm gonna spend a few hours going through all the clips i currently have and seeing what i wanna use from those. And then coming up with an idea of what to montage. Gozy if you have any large rushes or defenses, please upload those also. I lost a great opportunity the other night on walls when gdi lost ref and we were camping entrance with mam's meds and still had a bunch of advanced characters left. Totally wasn't thinking to record the defense but it was the kind where 15 tanks were coming inc and the screen starts tearing from all the ftanks lol. Marc was there for that. If you have stuff like that, it would make for a good introduction I'm thinking about doing.
Goztow Posted July 10, 2023 Author Posted July 10, 2023 I have those in the short clips uploaded in my topic. If u need the original clip of one of those then pm me.

Kingoberv Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 I got edited out another compilation kind of video today of the last of the stuff I feel is sufficient. So yes gozy, im going to go through all these vids of yours and pm you what I need.
Goztow Posted July 16, 2023 Author Posted July 16, 2023 (edited) It's still uploading as I write this, but you should be able to watch them in 20-30 minutes. All these clips are full games of tonight's lobby funwars. First of al: great turnout, we played 7v7 and some 6v6 and 5v5. Very enjoyable and mostly close games tonight, thanks to all who joined. Reminder: we do these every Sunday at 3 PM US time and 9 PM euro time. You will need teamspeak 3 to join (ts.rencorner.co). All are welcome, also those who have no mics. First clip is the full funwar on city flying. This is a first for me: I went in spectate mode and commented the lobby war. That way people have an idea how these coordinated games are different from normal public games. Maybe my comments are not always spot on, it's just the way I feel things at the moment ;-). 2nd clip is the full game on Islands. This was easily the best game of the night, it was very sweaty and very close at the end. You will see some very pro tanking on this clip! Enjoy it :-). 3rd clip is Complex. What can I say? A rather fast one, this. Tomb and Field will be added tomorrow Edited August 29, 2023 by nameismud QA 3
XtremePro Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 Last video on Complex. That was us! Rollin in GDI RIGHT. You jumped out of your art to tech me and we went in hot!
Goztow Posted July 24, 2023 Author Posted July 24, 2023 Siege deadlock, and then the oby gets rushed. When @pyr0man1c gets the worst double kill ever. 3
AprilWar Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 I struggle to see the difference between the regular server and the comm war server

Goztow Posted July 25, 2023 Author Posted July 25, 2023 In the regular server you will see people use the donate function and generally abuse one another in f2 chat. Not the case in clan war server. Hope this helps.
