TylerTheMaker Application for Developer

As char321 posted, I saw no official way to apply as developer. However a great friend of mine and of Rencorner, Camflht, recommend I bring my talents to the forefront.

A good start is to let you know a bit about myself! Currently I am an Eagle Scout working in I.T. at a hospital. I am not at the top of the pyramid, though I am in good standings with the director of the upper level position and will take an opening position as a desktop support specialist very soon! Linux is definitely not the favorite in terms of use by a hospital, but definitely is my cup of tea! By choice rather than career I chose from a young age to dabble with Linux, and over the course of 4 years have comfortably familiarized myself with the way a Linux system works. I do, in fact, use arch by the way.

As a tech enthusiast with enough time on my hands to spend hours at a time on the Minecraft server, I feel as though I need a hobby which I can enjoy! Taking a volunteer position as a developer for rencorner would give me a wide array of opportunities to improve my skills at the benefit of a server I absolutely love!

I have a variety of skills related to programming and a good understanding of logic behind the bulk of scripting, coding, and programming languages.

For my final words I will touch on something I did forget to mention. After graduating high school, I was swiftly approached by the school superintendent who invited me for an internship with the school’s director of IT. From this I learned a lot about system administration, mainly for windows, but I applied some of this logic over to my Linux tool set. Some would say I like Linux a little too much. But hey, some of the best software is free and open-source!

Much appreciation goes out to those who take the time to read this, and I hope you take this application with great consideration!
