mistaken ban?

Hi, tried joining today and I got a message saying I was banned for ban evasion. I haven't played much at all in months except a couple times recently and I haven't been disciplined nor caused any problems or cheated or anything. is this an IP thing?

I have not been playing on my mod account because I'm too stupid to use mIRC, banned account is "viss882a"

okay I was actually able to join a game and it says that Eric banned me for using other people's nicknames. Well it wasn't me. viss882a is me. I don't use other people's nicknames. I just dont use viss882 because I cant verify it in irc. I dont know how.
