Suspected cheat

I watched this video in slowmo and everything. its insane someone can hit a HS on a boots char thats jumping around. I also died behind the pillar. (if it doesnt load,  just copy url, close tab, and reload it. worked on a post I saw today where the vid hung.

Thoughts? Any chance to collab with the user to verify they're legit?

It looks a little suspicious yeah, but if I had a nickle for everytime I received a suspicious headshot I'd be a billionaire.

I looked up the username, IP, serial, etc.  He has been connecting to the server and playing since June 2018, most frequently under that name gunmen20.  The problem with Renegade is that the hits are registered clientside, so even if you are virtually out of view from gunmen20 on your screen, you could be a couple feet over from his point of view.

And even I, an absolutely terrible fucking sniper, have pulled off my fair share of bullshit headshots and even pulled a couple cheating accusations in the past.  Probably best to chalk this one up to a lucky headshot and/or a bit of lag contributing to the result.  

A log search for "gunmen20 hack" brings up a single match from 2022.

Thanks for posting this, we will keep an eye on it.

Like C4miner said, he prob killed you 0.5 sec and the movement brought you out of sight... or if your mouse was pointing a bit on the side you could maybe see him.. We'll watch him if this happens again.

FYI I get killed like this very often, even if like people say I live in the basement of the server lol.

I have to agree with everyone else here. Is it a bit suspicious? Sure, but this could really be lag here. I would be more concerned if we received more complaints about him.

Since today everyone hunting every fps and ordering gaming monitors with higher refresh rates is introduced new feauture "desync with server". Which is happening now more ofter and its not caused only by minimise renegade window anymore. At discord I posted in history screenshots how are bullet holes displayed on others clients + videos with refresh rates at clients in combination with server fps. Also Iran mentioned this years ago at renegade forums. Then you have trolls like ILL which trying abuse bandwith limits even they are now forced from server side. Then you have there other aspects like net update rate, client net update rate, ping, your upload speed, your number of hops to server side, wifi vs ethernet etc.
