Kicked for AFK, not AFK for one second

I was just in Marathon server at 7:30pm Central Standard Time US to 7:45pm. Some guy named Kirby kept telling me how to play, i ignored him, he then told others how to play and started tellin us to F off. Then he kept begging a mod to kick me for AFK. I was never AFK for one SECOND. Demented messaged me "are you there" I was in a flamer defending a med rush, immediatly said YES IM HERE IVE NEVER BEE AFK.  He immediatly kicked me anyway. And i was kicked in the middle of defending a med rush wich could have cost us the game. Look at the server records i blew up mammys, meds, killed peeps all in the time Kirby was screaming I was AFK.  Also, I NEVER go afk, its a pet peeve of mine i hate losing cuz people are afk. Please someone look at the server records and address this. I quit playing Renegade because of mod abuse, this is the third time this has happened in a week.

Hey,

Normally we kick people for afk AFTER pming the person 2-3 times. In this case, you replied to him as soon as he pmd you so the kick was unjustified and Demented should've done better by not jumping the gun and kicking you right away when you clearly said you weren't afk. Apologizes for the unwarranted kick.

 

As for Kirby, if he's being an asshole to everyone then someone needs to let a mod know in game so they get a !warn and possibly a !mute if they continue being an asshole.

Thank you very much for handling this so quickly.  And Kirby can act the fool all he wants, but he should not have the power to have me kicked for no reason. That is why I brought this up, I am no snowflake, and this is the third time I have been kicked for AFK when I clearly wasn't. Kirby was TH major, i called it out, he asked mod to kick me for afk, mod did it, when I clearly was not afk. I just can't have fun if I have to worry about being kicked when i am a team player and would never TH or AFK. Thanks again for addressing this fairly, love the server, thank you for what you do !

Like Manuel said, you shouldn't be kicked if you reply to messages. And generally mods should watch the score board for a minute to see if your score changes, before PMing you only because some player says you are AFK (generally speaking, we have reliable players that I trust enough to PM immediately). Back to the point, if a mod does that, and you say it was the third time it happened to you, please let us know about it.

Chevy was actually sitting idle in a Flame tank most of the game.  I asked him to play.  All he wanted to do with flame gate and we needed help.  There was several instances where I was ignored and he seemed AFK as he was not moving.  If i saw Chevy doing this again, I'd do the same thing.

Players should not be sitting idle in game.  I'll be committing to FRAPSing all my matches now.  So this can't happen again without solid proof.  See you out there Chevy.  Keep moving.

I am NEVER afk. These are LIES. I sit in a flame tank on field and block rushes and guard the tunnel for snipers.  in the game in question I blocked at least 10 apc rushes with my flame tank. Kirby insists i play as he wants me to and thats not gonna happen.  All these people accusing me of afk are LIARS. I never alt tab out or go afk more than 1 min to use the bathroom on marathon games.  I am tired of defending myself, last night kirby spent 15 min harrasing me, ramming my tank, and begging the mods to kick me for afk when i was NEVER afk for a second.  Last night on field people were switching teams TH, AFK for 20 min, etc, etc, but I am the problem ??

Do I have to defend myself everytime I play ?  Mods need to understand every complaint they get is not valid. Kirby thinks everyone should play as he wants them to. Thats fine but dont LIE and accuse me of AFK.  It never happened.  Its really hard to have fun when i have to worry about getting kicked for afk WHEN I DONT GO AFK.

  Is this allowed ?  So since he is a donator he can harrass me? Make false claims I am AFK ? Tell me he is watching me ? Is this ok ?  I am no snowflake but this is BS. Thank you.   Sorry I am so mad but I am a major team player and would never TH.  Its just hard for me to have fun when I have someone saying they are watching me and making up lies saying I am afk. Yes, I sit in a flamer on field and stop rushes with it, and its very effective. I never sit in a flamer if we have the field, EVER.  Kirby spent 15 minutes ramming my flamer, PM'ing me he would get me banned and reporting me as afk when i was never afk. I would consider that TH myself. I never sit in a tank and do that on any other levels so how is it a problem ? I flame snipers in the tunnel when they show up, is that ok Kirby ? Also I would add that I ended up just rushing with flamers on that map and using up the rest of my creds before I left because i was tired of  Kirby PMs saying he was gonna get me banned. As soon as I stopped defending with my flamer because of Kirbys harrasment the enemy immediatly did a apc rush and won the map.   I really don't see why I am having to defend myself when I have done nothing wrong. Lets get some other players to chime in about how often I am afk ??? This is targeted harassment.  I will drop it, but I will defend myself against false accusations. Always.

So you were PM'ing with Kirby with him saying I was TH and AFK and that never happened. And if it did happen, why did you not message me ?  Why am I the only one being scrutinized here and not the one making false accusations ? Reason I didn’t PM you is. After the complaint from Kirby I went to spec mode and ended up watching you for a little bit and found nothing wrong so I left it as that and told Kirby if anything happens again to let me know and I’ll investigate further. I didn’t see you doing anything wrong thus why I didn’t pm you. We cannot take action without any proof of evidence so you will not get banned just cos somebody said something don’t worry.

i almost get the impression auto forwarding afks into jail could save alot of drama and future drama... also it would reduce workload of the mods... Always cleaning up after the afks and texting them and waiting for response 2-3 times can get verry hard to manage if u have to take care of multiple ppl.. less stress for everyone... 

yoimdrunk can still do what he does. Today yoimdrunk told me he wouldnt join and play because ppl complain all the time :(. The problem is not that he goes afk all the time the problem is the imbalance of strenght in low pop lobbys that comes with going afk mid game...

Wow, totally professional. I needed to hear this lol.  And I want scrutiny for AFK, i have had to leave because of yoimdrunk being afk when its 3v3 that kills your team.  And i said something once to him about it and he gets mad you dont like him being afk. Wow, how about just leave and come back like most of us do lol. Thanks for handling this fairly.

We have afk plugin which is checking for afk players with specific functions. Issue is there are other players including mods which will push these afk characters on purpose or unintentionally. Plus there is ren bug when is your client minimised doesnt provide enought update data.

afk auto jail function was discussed multiple times internally and it will cause only balancing issues and kinda chaos for new cormers.
