Jukebox and Veteran Points crate discussion

Hi everyone. Last few days, there were a few more new possible suggestions for a server update.

The first one was suggested by SolidGold last night on Islands_Complex match, and it was about crate, which gives you random amount of veteran points. In my opinion, it should be back, but at the same time it should be balanced. For example: low chance to get this one, and the amount of veteran points it gives should not be too high or too low, yet the amount should be randomised.

The second one I discovered a few days ago. I experimented playing with music, and for me, its much funnier than without it, so I suggest to bring it back if possible. The server actually used to have Jukebox a long time ago, but I recommend slightly update it, by adding more functions like skipping ongoing track (if you do not like it) or function to toggle it if you don't like playing with music or add new tracks (e.g. some best from C&C Remastered Collection). 

I would be grateful to hear your answer or more possible suggestions / corrections.

Veteran crate is back. It was disabled since RC used previously different veteran plugin. Every custom veteran system had different way of handling promotions. Fixed small typo in source code and extended range for random number generator for granted veteran points since we have different values setuped against stock settings.

Jukebox will bring issues with main chat and make it again unreadable for specific people. Plus we havent much songs in server packages. So it require firstly song packages, then configuration, testing and other shits.

Sadly, yes. Jukebox messages will probably be in the main chat. Don't know if there is a way to separate them though. And at the same time its impossible to leave it without any indication. Moving the messages about what song is playing right now to the center of the screen is a bad idea in my opinion.

@shaitan want implement that jukebox? People will whine how it turn off.

I'd personally vote no to the points crate, it contributes nothing to the game at hand and only serves to artificially inflate your rank on the server without you actually doing anything.

As for the jukebox, make it off by default.

The jukebox used to stop working often.

Plus, the sound quality wasn't good. 

Plus, it's easier to put the songs on Spotify, for exemple, and press PAUSE if there's a nuke you want to hear.

For the last couple of days, I use Winamp in background for music. And yes, you can alt tab and pause if there is an important moment in-game. Yet sadly, the game may crash when alt-tabbing. The chance is as a rule low, but it happens.

This is exactly what I used to do. But I stopped because I live stream my gameplay every day. Which annoys live viewers.

I have a keyboard with stop/back/play&pause/skip buttons ; that helps lol

On the topic of crates.  It seems like every map theres an early money crate.. and imo its an insane amount of money.  

 

Like 500-700 credits.  Totally screws up the game especially in a smaller game which rencorner often is late at night.

 

 if it was 100-200 credits it wouldnt be so bad.  But when youre playing a 5v5 and all of a sudden theres a flame tank in your base 3 minutes into the game its not ok.

Yes, that's true. Exactly two days ago. I got money crate. Then I used helicopter and took over the base.GDI. I didn't give anyone a chance to escape or get out of  building. Then my team's followers came and the entire map was destroyed in less than 6:32 minutes.

You can see this in Live 18/10/2025 time ( 4:21:20 ) Exactly.. You will find that I got two money crate
