C4miner Posted January 3 Posted January 3 (edited) Hello my friends. Since I rejoined the Renegade community just under two years ago (having previously not touched the game since 2007), I've adapted my multiplayer experience with a handful of skins and gameplay settings that I've discovered slowly over time through the grapevines of Discord and Google. And now that I've been using all these things for quite some time, I find them so invaluable such that it's almost jarring to go back and play the stock multiplayer Renegade experience. So I'm putting all the custom skins and settings I can think of here in this thread in case any of you want to borrow them. And rather than explaining what each skin or option does with words and pictures, I find it easier to make a YouTube video to show the same. Credit to OuTSMoKE for his "Renegade FPS Lag Reduction Package" posted to MPF in 2013. This package is also legal on RenCorner and attached here as explosion_effects.zip. To install, unzip to your Data folder, which on typical Steam installations is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Command & Conquer Renegade\Data Neon yellow C4 skins (and bright colored alternate C4 skins for pimp mines) are attached here as neon_yellow_c4_skins.zip. Install to the same Data folder. No idea who made these, I've had them since the 2000s. Takes 5 minutes anyways. reticle+clearscope+clearchat.zipcontains the very simple crosshair reticle hd_reticle.dds that I made, the clearscope skin hud_sniper.dds for snipers (credit unknown), and the removal of the dark rectangular box behind chat messages in hud_6x4_messages.dds (credit unknown). hud.inichanges the player list color and team chat messages for Nod from the standard harsh red to a pink color, which is much easier to read in general. To install, copy the file to C:\Users\<user>\Documents\Renegade\Client. Credit is given to to iK4l3l from this thread. If you wish to use cyan instead of pink, simply open hud.ini in Notepad and change the values to: [General] NodHouseRed=0 NodHouseGreen=255 NodHouseBlue=255 W3D Hub Launcher can be downloaded from https://w3dhub.com/#launcher Other settings mentioned in the YouTube video do not require any downloads, so be sure to watch the video for the details Cheers Edited January 3 by C4miner 5 1
