Hi! I'm interested in applying to be a moderator in Rencorner.

 

1) What is your in-game name?

2) How old are you?

33

3) How often do you play on our server?

~once a week

4) What is your history with moderating and/or administrating Renegade servers?

No, but willing to learn.

5) On a scale of 1 to 10(1 being the least), how would you rate yourself on how much you know about IRC and BRenBot?

5 - Used to use IRC 15+ years ago, but am able to pick things up quickly.

6) How long have you been playing Renegade?

~5 years on and off. Used to play back in 2006-2010 more regularly, and recently came back in 2025.

7) Have you ever been banned on a server before? If so, why?

No.

8) If you caught someone cheating on the server, what would be your next step?

I would follow whatever policy the Rencorner moderator team has to address cheating, based on the type of cheating that is observed.

I don't know the current policy, but here is what I would do:

1. Report it to an admin (assuming I don't have the power to do anything at that moment).
2. Request an immediate screenshot from the suspected cheater.
3. Gather as much accounts as possible from other users regarding the suspected cheater and their behavior.

9) Summarize in at least 20 words why you'd be a great addition to the RenCorner staff.

In short, I believe I can contribute to making the RenCorner community more enjoyable for everyone. Here are a few more specific reasons:

• I care about making the game more fun for everyone. I am constantly trying to promote teamwork and play unselfishly to encourage others to do so by setting an example.
• I am generally very respectful to others in game.
• I know how to communicate well.
• I'd like to believe that the moderators that I often play with in the same time zone can back me up on the claims above (e.g. SolidGold, MarcPoulet, modestRobert, etc.) but I don't want to assume 
• I tend to play in a time-zone that has fewer moderators, so I can help keep the player count alive during those times by removing afk players etc. to make games more enjoyable so that people will play during those times.
