Application Monitor

This is a Windows application that will allow you to save the paths of an unlimited amount of executable files, by browsing to each path and clicking "save".

When all applications have been saved (this writes to a configuration file so does not have to be completed each time), you can click on the "Launch" button, which will then systematically launch each application sequentially.

This application stores the Process ID of each application when it is launched, and then monitors each process to check it is still running. If it finds that the process is not running anymore, it will relaunch the application for for.

Because this works on Proces ID's, it ensures that you can safely run this when using several instances of an application that has the same process name, which is handy when you're running applications that are prone to crashing, and you need to ensure maximum uptime.

The application will also log when an application's Process ID has stopped running, so you can review at your leisure how frequently and when the crashes are occuring.

Let's say we need to take a prgram down for updates, is there a way to 'uncheck' it, or would we have a way to delete it from this app?

If Application Monitor is running, and the application you wanted to halt for a while was a listed application, then when you closed the program, Appliaction Monitor would immediately restart it.

The only current way for you to do this would be to close Application Monitor while you prefermed your updates.

If updates were planned to take some time, then you can manually edit the ini file to remove the application.

However, starting Application Monitor would also mean that all the other monitored applications would have to be clsoed first, in order for Application Monitor to launch them again.

I may consider the ability to suspend all monitoring with a button, and the ability to un-monitor an application on-the-fly if there is genuine interest.

I remember there was this one application a few years back that had start/restart/stop functions and it was also based off of process IDs. If your program had this I would definitely use it on the servers we have here.

It was quite nice, even included an affinity manager and it acted as a server that provided a client app with login/passwords to remotely control it.
