Smaller flames,explosions for fps boost.

This is for ren admins or whoever deals with this.

 

Are these .w3d files accepted here? I've asked this before but gotten no response.

 

For those who have a chipset like me and fps sucks ass, If I get rushed by let's say 2 flame troopers then my fps just cant handle the flame spread up close (that's how bad it is) not to mention a big flame tank rush!

 

I know there are .w3d files that reduce the size of these flames and explosions because I have had them before and some servers allow them and some just haven't accepted them or haven't made note of it.

 

When I have had this in the past the reduction in flame spread and explosion is not so much but just enough so I can deal with it in my personal experience. I don't see no reason why this shouldn't be allowed for players but i'd like your input on the matter.

well, im no admin or anything but blinding some1 with a flamer or light tank smoke explosion is all part of the game  , and reducing those is somehow "cheating".... just saying :v

u could try reducing graphics in the configuration file , the lowest setting for renegade would make the game run smooth on a calculator

Lol vlat It's not cheating otherwise it wouldn't be allowed anywhere and it is atm.

 

My settings are fine I have exhausted all other options this is why i'm asking.

I didn't answer before because they are a cheat(didn't want everyone and their grandma asking about it), but yes, there's one version of it accepted server side(I think from when I was trying to add yours/seans skins before).

Each server has its own standards, Mikey.

Oh and vlat that's not true. I keep mine on the lowest(I like my repair beams straight tyvm), and it's just as smokey. BTW I hate scripts for that reason. :-P

Well that's your opinion if you think it is a cheat because there is no clear indication that it is hence me asking if it would be allowed.

 

If you had answered before I wouldn't of had to made a post, if you didn't want everyone asking about it then why not tell anyone at all because there are many people who know about it.

You can try lowering some settings on your Video card.

 

You probably have already done this, but disabling vsync dramatically increases FPS, but you get some screen tearing.

You can try changing your sound options in game as well, to free up some bandwidth during the explosions.
