So i have been thinking about getting a new computer for awhile and i was thinking of getting the Asus g750jx but now i keep thinking about the pros and cons of this computer and alienware m17x

Asus G750jx

pros:

-awesome fighter jet design

-epic cooling system (for stealth very quite)

-awesome graphics card

-12 hour stand by battery

-1920x1080 anti glare matte display

cons:

-no nvidia optimus

-no little pretty little colors on keyboard xD

-not very good sound system

-soldered GPU on motherboard (unable to upgrade GPU)

Alienware m17x

pros:

-"from a different world" design

-nvidia optimus

-awesome sound system

-GPU upgradable (not soldered on Motherboard)

-pretty little colors on keyboard (able to change colors too)

cons:

-not very good battery

-bad cooling system

-has to be plugged in for "awesome performance"

Cons for both:

-both have reports of bad costumer service

So i would like your all's honest opinion cause im stuck idk what to get.

you all are the only ones that ik that know the most about computers. thanks again!

about the "have to be plugged in "  : ANY laptop u buy has to be plugged in when you are gaming , u can always make it run best performance on battery by changing some advanced options BUT you should never play games on battery ...it fucks your battery up , u could ruin your battery in one day sometimes .

the Nvidia optimus isnt that much of an argument , all it does is turn card off when its not used ... and it makes u not able to run old games like Ra2 ... the tech that is really interesting about Nvidia is the FXAA , its an Anti-aliasing tech that only Nvidia has and is very good for the eyes with little to no hit on performance , it's really good .

about changing gpu on a laptop .... well u said that the alienware doesnt have that great cooling system , so its not like you are gonna be able to upgrade gpu anyway.

and having a good cooling system is one of the Most important thing on a laptop ( i got hp and i can use it as heater in winter , u dont wanna have that :P )

Oh and ... how about u post some "real" specs so we can discuss better ... i mean "epic cooling system" and "awsome graphics card" doesnt really explain much :v

I wouldnt recommend Alienware. They rip you off. You can change the motherboard and get a motherboard that you can put new upgrades on. Which is cheaper.

If I were you, I'd choose the Asus. You can modify it later on. Ask how much it is to get a new motherboard with customizations(increased ram, better gfx, better sound card, etc,.) You will be better off.

In my own opinion, I have never had an issue with ASUS, I consider them to be one of the best, Alienware makes a great PC, but the cost is astronomical, it would be far cheaper to build or buy a store bought and make select upgrades, more so I personally never recommend a laptop for gaming, some people like it, personally I feel you can do more with a desktop when it comes to gaming.

You can build a desktop that will crush both of those laptops for less money.

BUt if you take your laptop everywhere, I'd get the ASUS.

(Their customer service isn't that bad, after you find out how to contact them, wait 3 days for a useless response, re-contact them, let them tell you that the problem is on your end, and then get nasty ....they email you the prepaid RMA kit right away.)

You should wait for G-sync to come out in early 2014, it eliminates motion blur in gaming, and ASUS will be the first to have it.

Makes your shooting WAAAAAYYYYY more accurate in game. You hit what you aim at, like on the old CRT monitors.
