Guest Animoski Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Interesting read if you like cars and believe our current/future generations are getting dumb as shit. (For those who will actually read the article; "YOLO" means "You Only Live Once" which has been coined by a rapper and the meaning of it has been wrongfully adopted by youth/young adults who think it's feasible to do whatever the fuck they want without thinking about the consequences...) http://jalopnik.com/...-a-brutal-wreck [R.I.P to those who have died.]
Guest Animoski Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Here's another interesting article in light of our upcoming elections: http://motherboard.vice.com/2012/9/5/the-six-names-you-won-t-hear-at-the-democratic-national-convention

Wyld1 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Blame the parents. Too much freedom. I agree jks, very sad.

Mikey Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 All the mainstream shit brainless people follow like sheep, sad really no mental capability to think for themselves
RnD Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 As far as I am concerned, and I apply this to everyone, when you think mainstream, you stop thinking and when you stop thinking you may as well not be breathing because there is no difference at that point, the most powerful men and women on this planet became what they are today by thinking for themselves, by themselves. ~ R n D ~
jks101 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Yeah...Well the kids at my school. Oh boy....Yeah I also agree with Wyld, parents do give too much freedom. Examples of my classmates. - 7th grader caught drinking "Miller Light" by the lockers...EXPELLED - One 8th grader and one 7th grader caught Drinking alcohol and smoking (As of what I heard) I have pictures of him drinking on facebook...EXPELLED - One 6th grader bought a knife to school...EXPELLED (1 year) - Two 7th graders arrested for breaking a city curfew. 2 a.m. coming from a party - As of some of my friends idk if it's true but some people were smoking in the bathroom AND some "7-8 graders" might be smoking weed right behind the school's baseball field Yeah that's about the major stuff that happened at our school. Our school is in a really great neighboorhood one of the decent ones but, a mile down there is a pretty bad area. That's were most of this shit is come from, other surrounding towns. It's shocking....Really
BillieJoe67 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Some of my school smoked weed in the bike shed 15 metres from the head teachers office, nothing against weed, but you'd think they'd have been a bit less obvious
jks101 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Mhm. Did I forget that one of my classmates punched a cop. haha
Wyld1 Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I know what I did and the freedom I had. I had no right to be the places I was at doing the things I was doing. My kids can hate me forever for being restrictive, but at least they will be around to hate me.
Guest Animoski Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 As a fellow pothead I can say that if you're smoking in pretty shady spots and you get caught that's all on you. Choose wisely. I also think a lot of people smoke weed due to peer pressure... People can't think for themselves these days. :/
Beefvat Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I respect the rights of parents to have their own individual ways of raising their children. What I don't respect is parents not taking responsibility for the actions of their children. I have two small boys and do everything I can to help them form the right decisions not just follow mine. I believe that self empowerment is important but more important is teaching that consequences come from every action. In short think of the consequences before you act and you will make the right decision. Parents need to realize that dictating doctrine has no effect but teaching a child to develope their own has tremendous effect.

I agree with this 100% as that is how I was brought up, If I choose to make a bad decision then I've only got myself to blame and therefore need to be in the correct frame of mind to ensure that I make the right decisions/choices. Glad to see some respectful people on a forums for once thank you!

Starbuzz Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Glad to see some open-minded non-mainstream folks here. If you guys have not read the 1928 book Propaganda by Edward Bernays, I highly suggest you do it. In fact, if you are not into reading I really just hope you read JUST THE FIRST 3 PAGES and you will immediately know who REALLY controls society, i.e, those who control the mass media. They shape our perceptions and will continue to do so unless otherwise someone gives us a clue or we ourselves begin to suspect something wrong. Here's the book's free PDF: http://www.whale.to/b/bernays.pdf
