Daxiath Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 So I asked some players in the game why I cannot seem to install scripts, but no one seemed to know. I can download the launcher file, but when it goes to download the actual scripts it requires them to be saved to a file (there is no default location). This is where the problem comes in, no matter what file I try to save them in the "okay" option is always grayed out. I would say after a year of playing this game I think I REALLY need scripts . I have tried running it as an admin on windows 7 but no luck. I was hoping someone would know what I need to do? thanks
Strike Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 have you tried to get the source from the TT website? http://www.tiberiantechnologies.org/downloads
Daxiath Posted April 20, 2014 Author Posted April 20, 2014 Yes thank you that is where I got it actually. but still can't download. to be clear I have the file saved I just need to be able to unzip it and save it into another file so it is actually downloaded. however any file I put it in the okay option is still grayed out. ty
BillieJoe67 Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 You are downloading the client installer, right? It's this one. When you start it, you should a screen asking you where you want to install scripts to (it defaults to the installation path in the registry); my path is C:Program Files (x86)EA GamesCommand & Conquer The First DecadeCommand & Conquer RenegadeRenegade, it might be installed in C:WestwoodRenegade though. Browse to your Renegade installation folder (NOT the data folder). Click next and choose your preferred language, next again to choose extra settings (desktop/start menu shortcuts). Finally click install and it should take care of everything for you. 1
YesNoMayb Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I had this issue a while back when my okay option was grayed out. Turned out I had to change the file destination/directory. Follow Billie's instructions for your fix.
Daxiath Posted April 23, 2014 Author Posted April 23, 2014 thanks, it worked now I just need to figure out why my firewall keeps the game from working.
