shaitan Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 FFS normally I do my own brakes, drivetrain, undercarriage work. Holy mother...it didn't seem to matter which garage I went to, I was getting boned. Had to get the inspection over with, mine was out of date. I went in for one of these shitty, scam-filled, state inspections we have to get out here. That's normally $20. I ended up paying $648.59 when it was all done. Tacking on parts I didn't need, lying to my face. Trying to get me to buy tires that I don't need, because he says they're not 4/32 of an inch. Trying to get me to believe that's state law. Punk motherfucker, I used to do tires for a living. I know what tread depth is, state minimum is 2/32 of an inch FOR PASSENGER VEHICLES. I wonder what they teach those dipshits when they have to study for that certificate. Pennsylvania DOT regulations Section (d) - (1) - (i), unless my eyes deceive me, it clearly states that rule applies to anything over 10,000 lbs. Told him to go fuck himself. That's what I get for being lazy on this car. To all of you who own/drive vehicles, do your own work on them if possible. The one car I didn't want to mess with, ended up costing me out the ass when I let someone else do the work. End rant. 4
DrSithis Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I can agree with you on that one shaitan. When some of the guys that work in these mechanics shops' try and know everything there is to know; when you've read the books and studied it, it can piss you off. I say, kill them and work on it yourself. Free of charge. 1
Joetorp Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Shai, Calm down, Aurum only said he doesn't give a ____! No need to hide it cuz it isn't sympathetic to your dilemma! Joe

CerealKlr Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Well Shai, Think of it this way, you didn't have to replace those 2 good parts, you thought were bad (seems like their is always 2), and you didn't have to make 4 trips to the auto parts store, (where they always give you the part that is "compatible" but never fits). And...you still have all the skin on your knuckles, and...you dont have to wait 3 days to get all the grease out from under your fingernails. It still sux, but it ain't all bad.
Evo Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 At least we American's can make some nice bombs. That makes no sense
ice187dna Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I have a '91 Volvo Estate and for the past 5 years took it to the same mechanic who I THOUGHT was decent. Main problem I had was getting the thing started, loosing power and stalling when I was driving (Automatic gear). Cost me a bit of money and this went on and on. My car was braking down all the time. One time he said he replaced the spark plugs...all he did was charge me for some old ones again. One day I snapped and I was told to go a different mechanic which my Aunties mate said was very good and he tells you straight up the price, what's wrong with it, if it can be fixed or if it's not worth the work and to scrap it. As my Aunties mate works selling car parts she know's who is the good and bad mechanics in the area. I took the car to the new mechanic called Andy. He opened the car bonnet and said who ever has done work to this car shouldn't be a mechanic! As he also works on taxi's he has to make sure they are 100% perfect and he never bullshits you at all. From that day he sorted out the car. It took some doing and some ££ but...he was cheaper but he is a dam good mechanic. He had to do 5 years of work in a few days time. I found out other faults so have been back up and they are working fine too. Now my car runs like a bitch It just goes to show picking the right mechanic goes a long way. Best thing to do is shop around for a good mechanic, sounds daft but it's worth it. Why not ask places which supply car parts to the mechanics and them who's a decent mechanic? Working on your own car is good.....unless you know what you are doing, it could cause more problems and solving them.
Joetorp Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 You're joking about that? That's sick It's what caused that , that was sick, know you history Joe 1
Daedhart Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 I feel for ya. Garage mechanics suck a big hairy one. I regret I dont know much about cars, but thankfully I have a brother that does. I fix his computer, he fixes my car. Every time I bring my shit in, I feel like Jim Carey in the Mask.
Joetorp Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 It's okay Joe he doesn't understand. Sorry Jks, at his age, he should have been taught about WWII, in school, instead of the multicultural bullshit, lets teach 'em how the founding fathers were slave owners and the constitution isn't a fair document and needs to be changed. Let's omit history in favor of pop culture, and the gay agenda. Joe 1

Joe I'm pretty sure I learned about history, but resorting to a nuclear bomb was not our best decision, and in many ways was immoral, unethical and not necessary at all. We could have retaliated in different ways, and I do not believe that using an atomic bomb was the right way. The Manhattan Project simply went too far. 1

Drop 2 giant bombs or send another ~200,000 US Soldiers and have most slaughtered. Those were our options. Do a little more history research on: "not necessary at all. We could have retaliated in different ways" You can believe what you want, but facts and numbers don't lie. 1

Like the Japanese cities previously bombed by American airmen, the US and its allies justified the atomic bombings as military necessity in order to avoid invading the Japanese home islands which would cost the lives of between 250,000-500,000 Allied troops and millions of Japanese troops and civilian. - wikipedia Maybe we should have apologized to Japan for not letting them take over the Asian continent, that must be why they were forced to do a sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. Maybe you didn't learn about the death march or the torture they inflicted on us. Oh yea, how about those Germans, nice people they were back then. Evo, you don't know what the fuck you are talking about. You have a soft life. Joe 1
