Hi guys,

I have serious trouble installing the scripts for Renegade. When I try to install it (Through PlayOnLinux based on Wine), the installation process comes to the installation of the vcredist_x86 and hangs with errors:

First this los is created:

I cant even register on renegadeforums, because I never receive the confirmation mail, the supportblackhand-studios isn't reachable as well and I dont get replies on the TT-IRC-chat, so I post my problem here, so anyone might know about it?

Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the direct link to the files, after several tries, wine complains about Renegade with an error, after I paste the content into the Renegade-folder.

Within this instruction the author says, that the scripts installation should run fine, but it doesn't (see above errors), so I'm looking for a way to get in touch with the renegadeforums. Can someone, who is registered there, link this topic there?

Whitedragon is more than qualified to help you.

I would be happy, if Whitedragon could help with that special situation! I got Kubuntu v15.04 with PlayOnLinux (Wine) v4.2.5.

Thank you!

What error do you get after putting those files in? Maybe google for installing the vc redistributable on wine. If it's complaining about missing DLLs, like Mss32.dll, you can download those online and stick them in the Renegade folder too.

OK, I installed vcrun2012 (it's the vcredist_x86.exe v2012, which is needed for scripts) and now Renegade asks me for the Scripts2.dll, where can I get this file?

Posted

Install scripts 4.1. That will solve that scripts2.dll error.

As I already stated in my very first post, I already tried and it hangs with the above errors.

Did you try downloading the scripts2.dll file with a Google search as Whitedragon suggested?

No, because I don't know a safe source for downloading such files.

Thanks! Can we arrange an area, where we can put all the needed files in? So I would create a working manual for running Renegade on Linux!
