Guest KirillSp Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Hi guys, I have serious trouble installing the scripts for Renegade. When I try to install it (Through PlayOnLinux based on Wine), the installation process comes to the installation of the vcredist_x86 and hangs with errors: First this los is created: [0028:0029][2015-06-10T05:30:17]: Burn v3.6.3542.0, Windows v5.1 (Build 2600: Service Pack 3), path: C:\users\kirill\Temp\vcredist_x86.exe, cmdline: '/quiet /norestart -burn.unelevated BurnPipe.{FA36D88C-C9C7-4760-8472-7C587251C19D} {88D4CFCC-62F8-46DA-8A58-333544D97317} 37'[0028:0029][2015-06-10T05:30:17]: Setting string variable 'WixBundleLog' to value 'C:\users\kirill\Temp\dd_vcredist_x86_20150610053017.log'[0028:0029][2015-06-10T05:30:17]: Setting string variable 'WixBundleOriginalSource' to value 'C:\users\kirill\Temp\vcredist_x86.exe'[0028:0029][2015-06-10T05:30:17]: Error 0x80004005: Failed to set pipe to non-blocking.[0028:0029][2015-06-10T05:30:17]: Error 0x80004005: Failed to connect to elevated parent process.[0028:0029][2015-06-10T05:30:17]: Variable: WixBundleElevated = 1[0028:0029][2015-06-10T05:30:17]: Variable: WixBundleLog = C:\users\kirill\Temp\dd_vcredist_x86_20150610053017.log[0028:0029][2015-06-10T05:30:17]: Variable: WixBundleOriginalSource = C:\users\kirill\Temp\vcredist_x86.exe[0028:0029][2015-06-10T05:30:17]: Error 0x80070218: Failed to write message type to pipe.[0028:0029][2015-06-10T05:30:17]: Error 0x80070218: Failed to post terminate message to child process cache thread.[0028:0029][2015-06-10T05:30:17]: Error 0x80004005: Failed to run per-user mode.[0028:0029][2015-06-10T05:30:17]: Exit code: 0x80004005, restarting: No After timeout this one is being created: [0025:0026][2015-06-10T05:30:17]: Burn v3.6.3542.0, Windows v5.1 (Build 2600: Service Pack 3), path: C:\users\kirill\Temp\vcredist_x86.exe, cmdline: '/quiet /norestart'[0025:0026][2015-06-10T05:33:18]: Error 0x800705b4: Failed to open parent pipe: \\.\pipe\BurnPipe.{FA36D88C-C9C7-4760-8472-7C587251C19D}[0025:0026][2015-06-10T05:33:18]: Error 0x800705b4: Failed to connect to unelevated process.[0025:0026][2015-06-10T05:33:18]: Error 0x800705b4: Failed to run per-machine mode. I cant even register on renegadeforums, because I never receive the confirmation mail, the supportblackhand-studios isn't reachable as well and I dont get replies on the TT-IRC-chat, so I post my problem here, so anyone might know about it? Thanks a lot!
Whitedragon Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Here's a zip of the files. Just drop them in the Renegade folder. http://black-cell.net/scripts4.1.zip
Guest KirillSp Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Thanks for the direct link to the files, after several tries, wine complains about Renegade with an error, after I paste the content into the Renegade-folder. Within this instruction the author says, that the scripts installation should run fine, but it doesn't (see above errors), so I'm looking for a way to get in touch with the renegadeforums. Can someone, who is registered there, link this topic there?
Guest KirillSp Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 I would be happy, if Whitedragon could help with that special situation! I got Kubuntu v15.04 with PlayOnLinux (Wine) v4.2.5. Thank you!
Whitedragon Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 What error do you get after putting those files in? Maybe google for installing the vc redistributable on wine. If it's complaining about missing DLLs, like Mss32.dll, you can download those online and stick them in the Renegade folder too.
Guest KirillSp Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 OK, I installed vcrun2012 (it's the vcredist_x86.exe v2012, which is needed for scripts) and now Renegade asks me for the Scripts2.dll, where can I get this file?
Lucky Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Install scripts 4.1. That will solve that scripts2.dll error.
Guest KirillSp Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 (edited) As I already stated in my very first post, I already tried and it hangs with the above errors. Edited July 5, 2015 by KirillSp
YesNoMayb Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Did you try downloading the scripts2.dll file with a Google search as Whitedragon suggested?
Guest KirillSp Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 No, because I don't know a safe source for downloading such files.
pyr0man1c Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/w4mxie1c3f282xu/Scripts2.dll?dl=0
Guest KirillSp Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Thanks! Can we arrange an area, where we can put all the needed files in? So I would create a working manual for running Renegade on Linux!
