mademan
I have windows 10 and all the information some news report sites say is false , like ,,pirated games'' , microsoft won't disable them , if you choose to do everything by yourself ( there is a little option when you upgrade to win 10 , if you do express install then its over for you.) and the forced updates , it isn't really forced , you can tell him to update when you want or never update or other things. And the taskbar icons are not stuck , you can disable them by going to the settings panel ( I remember I did it last week but I can't remember how) , I don't know why Windows 10 received soo much hate , its a really cool windows , and when I am lonely I can talk to Cortana b*** a** lmao Edited August 20, 2015 by mademan
Lucky
You probably have Windows 10 pro, it doesn't have forced updates.
mademan
Yeah and everything works fine , no pirated games taken away so far , i've tested puttin them on my ssd too where Windows is installed , nothing , soo idk what those news reports say , also that with piracy is only for games made by Microsoft Studios or something like that like State of Decay and Age of Empires

masscarriers
I don't think the small paragraph found in MS EULA wasn't meant to be enforced right away and at large but mostly to protect themselves from large studios (and protect their own games maybe in the long run). They have already so much trouble dealing with people pirating the OS itself, I don't see them coming tommorow morning with a large scale program that sweeps all that's not microsoft-authorized and wiping them off people's HD. Imagine the sh*tstorm they would have if it somehow failed to properly distinguish a bad game/software and erase a good one, yikes.People are mostly freaking out because of the intrusion depth microsoft displays, namely by going as far as saying in the EULA that they give themselves the right to check your stuff and delete it if they see fit. You can keep playing your fake Diablo 1, no one at microsoft will delete your lvl31 rogue.
BillieJoe67
There isn't going to be a Windows 11 by name, Microsoft is finally going down the same route as practically every other operating system with rolling release (although they still all have version numbers) Realistically, whatever you do on the internet is inviting the nsa to have a snoop (NSA helped with win7 development). If you like tin foil hats you'd be better using something like Redhat Enterprise, a vpn and torr. Or become Amish I guess I just wish visual studio would finally become compliant with decades old standards

Joetorp
Do a search for "sysinternals autorun", They were bought out by MS and it is on their site. With it you can clean up your startup files to help you understand why it is so slow.
