Wow, that was a lot of reading. I actually remember quite a lot of what was said there. The most vivid being Capricorn cheating. We went through server logs and found coordinates when the shots were fired. Was a shitty, unfortunate situation. It's all in the past now. I look forward to gaming with you guys in the future!

 

Go back and look for yourself, but the coordinates (grabbed by Hex himself) matched the story and Capricorn was not cheating

Hex originally posted the screenshots backwards, but when you turned it around it all lined up perfectly and was just a case of Renegade lag ghosting in the upper corner of the HON (like you used to see up on the City_Flying bridge with guys running against the edge in straight lines)

 

There were certainly some {Os} guys cheating, but the only one for certain was the gorilla kid

 

The entire tournament was a waste of time because of teams needing to reschedule, and I didn't even want it to take place after how much of a pain in the ass the first one turned out to be

Ah the to RGCT2 drama, it's been a while since I've got to weigh in on this topic!

 

We debated that incident for a week, I remember the effort that went into 3 bloody ramjet shots. The most infamous 3 shots in rene-history? Just had a look and it reached 9 pages in the private discussion by the end. We recreated events, with several people verifying results and using RGH to replicate those shots. 

And that discussion involved many sources including myself, tiesto, liquid, ethenal, raven, hex, volcom, hypnos, goztow, Prulez and Gumby too. 

 

Hex made a mistake, which led to the public fuckup and back-tracking. We made a mistake to post it publicly too early and that cost us. 

 

The information we had didn't point at cheating. Whether Hex's mistake was an honest one or not (I believe it was), we couldn't ban her without better proof and the only proof we had pointed to lag. I think we also took consolation in her being a lone sniper wasn't the deciding factor in that match. 

 

I'm surprised with that information you were privy too, that you still hold the view you do.

I feel the way you, hex and n00bless stepped out of that tournament was embarrassing, but it was also a shame that members of both sides of that continued the slander as far as I remember.   

 

And Os cheating at the end....can't say as the admin team we didn't see that coming....such is ren. At least gorilla was stupid enough to make it obvious. 

 

As far as the rene community goes, unlike liq I think it was worth it. There were a few decent games and I think the majority of the general rene-public had a good time in matches. So I'm happy with that. As lots of things in life staff/management were in the firing line. I had fun when I got to play anyway

I haven't been around ren that much lately. I keep up to date over at Jelly, but hadn't played before our final weekend matches in more than a year. 

 

Couldn't miss a chance to get into some renedrama. I miss it

I have to agree with Gumby here, yeah it is true Jelly has been around a long time but why would we shut down for a day to honor them, hate to rip open old wounds but I don't ever recall Jelly doing RenCorner alot of favors especially in the form of Iranian on RenForums.

 

Jelly lived, Jelly died, same goes for many, many other servers over the years, know what will happen when RenCorner leaves Renegade someday?

 

Not a damn thing, a tumble weed will blow by, that is it, this idea of honor existing at all in a game that has had the drama and worse then that around it over the years is laughable

Renegade X is a bust because instead of actually trying to keep the community as a whole in which I mean all remaining renegade players alive by embracing all that work and effort made by Totem Arts which they have done with absolutely no financial gain and or reward, we are clinging to to a thirteen year old game for no real reason other then we act as if we fear change.

 

I had real hopes that Renegade X would a second chance for those of us who love C&C but I guess it is our fate to be self defeating, just like this idea of shutting down for a day because one of our competetors by any other name on any other day will be closing thier doors.

 

My heart really goes out to Totem Arts.
