Thank You

Hey Everyone,

With Jelly closing down I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you. I want to thank you all for your support, your kindness, and your acceptance. Without you guys Rencorner wouldn't be around. Regardless of all the stuff that happens I appreciate every single one of you. Whether you are staff or every day players: Thank you. This server is based on what makes you happy and I hope we continue within all of our games to keep getting great numbers, providing great services, and having an awesome staff that makes me proud. I hope, with everyone's help, we can keep Renegade alive and also continue to better all of the other games we host.

I also want to take a quick minute to give Jelly a shout out. Over the years I was never a huge part of the community over there, but I always had a huge respect for you guys. You were the one Renegade community I aspired to be like. I was never a huge public player. I always preferred to play clanwars, but Jelly always had the majority of the .cc players, so that says enough in itself. Renegade took a huge hit losing you guys and I am honored to be the owner of one of the last populated servers.

In closing thank you guys again. Without each of you this community would have no purpose.

Much love,

-Rob

Well said Volcom!

I will truly miss playing at Jelly. Made a lot of good friends and had a blast over the years. Unfortunately the time had come to close the server for good. I hope everyone who played at Jelly comes to Rencorner and keep renegade alive and strong for many years to come since we are basically the last big community that's hosting a "C&C Renegade" server.

Thank you everyone for the supporting the community over the years! I'm really honored to be part of Rencorner!

What happened to jelly?

Still Renegade has come so far since its debut.

No matter what happens ill still play renegade even if im 70 like joe :)

Survival of the fittest really, RenCorner gave the players what they wanted and listened to them. Jelly, not so much.

Looks like the Ren server will need some more slots!

GG :)

Volcom is a great server owner and I wish Rencorner the best despite the differences I have with certain people or the server settings =p. He loves the game and will play it until he drinks himself to death or until Dominos burns down or whatever pizza place he owns in Canada. I admire that about him, he is a strong leader, passionate about the game and just makes doing anything in renegade fucking awesome. I had mentioned that to him when we finished playing Jelly's last few games. Rencorner settings might be different (annoying for my classic standards) but i'll be damned if I don't enjoy playing renegade and that's what everyone here needs to continue to do for whats left of the game.

People can say whatever they want about Jelly server, staff, or players but the majority of them just stopped playing which is why it died (myself included). They all moved on to different games and a good chunk of Jelly players were some of the best clanwar players ,so when clanwars.cc slowly fell off they stopped sticking around in Jelly. Similar to with my guys and lobby wars we used to do. It was me, jonrambo (stoned09), ImJamie, MUDKIPS (who actually started it with me for the fist week then he fucked off for 4 years until this past weekend) ehhh, soqlogiical, soqnighty88,  pinball, mrhero, xpert, moby2222, HTMN47, and a bunch of others who would want to join us and we would sit in Jelly until we had enough people play lobby wars. Once we all started to shift to League of Legends, counterstrike, or work jobs, etc lobby wars slowly died and non of us bothered to sit in Jelly at all.

Basically in sum keep having fun in the game and the fact that you have OSTK flooding the server is similar to MPF in theirs. It keeps the community tight playing the game and that is what will succeed so keep it up and encourage your members to keep playing and have Staff that loves the game and will continue to play.

Your welcome Rob. :) Wow, haven't posted in a while here. I came on the forums after reading Volcom's post on Jelly forums about a RC TK2 match and saw this. All this stuff is bringing up old memories and emotions.

I am extremely happy RC still exists today and wish it to continue for another 10 years. Players need choices and obviously the game is down to two servers. New ones have tried to start up but failed as well as several that sit empty for years now that will never get a player base.

RC had it's down time when Jelly had a majority of the regular stock players. I give props to Volcom, Shai, and Blacky for sticking it out to be where you are today. Please keep it up and never lose your intensity. The reasons stated here and on Jelly forums as to why it closed are things you have covered here at RC very well.

I left for my own personal reasons during the worst times of RC. I have always been sad about having to leave and would still be a part of RC had the issues not existed. It is an honor providing the serials RC is using, makes me feel like I am still a part of RC in an indirect way. RC can use them for as long as they are needed, they will never be taken away. I smurf in the server at times as well as my youngest son (frog) plays in it. I appreciate the work the mods do; overall you have a good mod staff although a few need some training. :P

So you may wonder why all the deep shit from Wyld. I will tell those that don't know, I started having health problems in late 2013 and the short story was because I have stage 4 cancer. So a lot of things have changed in my life basically spending all of 2014 and 2015 battling it. I don't know, maybe facing mortality or what, I felt like I needed to say what I did above.

I appreciate RC being here as it allows me to escape my medical world. Yeah I can't play for hours at a time like I used to because the chemo effects my hands and I am always tired.  But you all need to know it's not just providing a place for peeps to get their video swerve on, it means many different things again to me a fun escape from a horrible situation.

For those that actually read all this, thank you.

I have always felt bad about you leaving man. I won't discuss the details, but I wish you would of just spoke with me before you left as I know we could of resolved it. I have never held any ill will towards you man and I am grateful you still care about this community.

Also I am very saddened to hear about your illness, but your a Renegader: You can fight. Please stop by the teamspeak and come hang out with us like old times!

Miss you man!

Hi Wyld, I am so sorry to learn of your medical problem, I had prostate cancer, but it was determined early, and 8 weeks of radiation took care of it, Thank God!  It's been 4 years since I had it, and things are good for me...

I must say it has been one hell of a ride.

Renegade was the first game I actually played online with. Back in the days when DSL started popping up in my area, in 2004.

Jelly has been around for a helluva while, and i'm extremely saddened to hear what has happened.

Even though I was banned at one point, always had a deeper respect for the community because of all the obvious accomplishments.

Always one of the toughest comms to go up against in commwar, and always killing it with "foot traffic."

Their leaving is really symbolic for me, just shows how much time can change, and how fast it all goes by in reality.

Words can not describe my emotions and appreciation of Volcom and the rest of the staff here that has continued RenCorner, a little project with zero expections I started that has grown into a great affluence of which many people i've seen and have known of for many years has invested their time and money to.

Thank you everyone for the time and effort, but mostly thank you everyone for the memories.

I wish I had the time (or really the interest) to play the game these days, i'm just so over it's repetitiveness lol

I was asked to post something in here too, but my Mama always told me if I didn't have anything nice to post, don't type at all. Of course I never listened. :joker:

Those of you who've helped keep us afloat by playing, helping, or donating: thank you. There's a special spot in my hell just for you. ;)

You know, I never really realized how much Rob did around here until he had to drop everything and take over his Dominoes full time. Last night was kind of fun, and I miss that. Everything, since he got too busy, has just been pure stress.

Like crush said, a lot of people at Jelly just moved on to other things (League of Legends, World of Tanks, etc.).  The Jelly staff had what I like to think as a good crew but real life caught up with everything and moderators were few and far in between in the actual servers, and the admin staff went AWOL and nothing was really worked on for several years.  You can only keep a ship afloat with no captain or crew for so long before something gives, and the strange Jelly server lag combined with RenCorner and MPF implementing new maps in more sensical rotations gave people something new to try.  Jelly stood atop the Renegade world for a very long time, but its time has come to an end and my opinion, for what it's worth, is that RenCorner is the best place to be now.  Thank you for taking your servers down on Sunday to give Jelly its proper Viking funeral send-off into the ocean of Renegade's past - I appreciated the gesture immensely, as did everyone else from the community.  Renegade's life torch is now in your hands, and I believe RenCorner will hold it high for years to come.  I'm sure I'll see you guys in your server in the future when I stop by and revisit Renegade.

In closing, if RenCorner wants to do a future community match against the legacy of Jelly Games I'm sure I could summon a team of past and present warriors to give you a run for your money (because lord knows MPF isn't worth showing up to do battle against - no offense to any MPF people, but it's true).

Salute!

I never really had much love for Jelly as a person after the a00 - debacle, some people may remember it. That's past now though, and I even played a couple of games there before moving to rencorner as "last Rene server standing".

However, I can recognize the effort that Jelly and his community put into Renegade and appreciate it.

I like rencorner a lot, though I do wish they could consider some suggestions I posted to make the server a bit more variated, and maybe more enjoyable for some of us more classic players. But I'm also happy that there's still a place where I can go play some Ren ;).

It's really no surprise to me that the tyranny and elitism of the mod staff lead to their eventual downfall, but it was nice of them to let me play in the last ever games in their server.  Hopefully Rencorner can keep renegade alive for many more years.
