Clarification

First things first... Clarification*

 

This is allowed walking above map?

 

To me it's the same in all the screenshots, walking on top of the map.

 

I was told that it was allowed by a mod here, but see the pics below of what happened when that was said in F2 chat.

 

First map was Sand, which I was told it was allowed on.

 

 

 

These are from Under, as you can see with it apparently being 'allowed' it got out of hand.

 

 

 

 

I always though this wasn't allowed but according to one of your mods it is, I was also asked to ask another mod here that it was allowed by that same mod. Correct me if i'm wrong but i've never seen this allowed in the server before.

 

Not here to point fingers just want clarification, if needed to know who the person is then I will let an admin know.

That's what I was thinking too Gumby, wouldn't allow it myself personally If I was a mod here.

I remember that too Manuel, you were telling them to get off that part of the map on Under.

 

I wasn't sure about Sand hence why I asked, but imo it's the same thing as under really.

In all honesty neither on sand or under that has been allowed ever, whatever the server was. On under I've killed and kicked a few players that did so even when they were told it wasn't allowed.

On sand, at least I wouldn't allow it, cause players aren't allowed to go there, it's just like 1 man ref hoping on complex but in a sand dune. If you're not meant to go there, or if you need to make 10 crazy jumps to go there, you're not allowed to be there. That simple.

So I'm with Gumby and Mikey on this, and the mod should've asked before doing it tbh.

Edit: Also, Mikey, you don't need to tell an admin who that mod was, we can clearly see his name on the ss. And besides, I was on that sand game, so I know who it was anyway.

Did you consider intent?

EDIT: To clarify, I saw Bane up there, so I was checking to see how he reached that position. It was clearly intended to be able to walk up there by the map designer, and I've heard/seen nothing against it in our rules, so i didn't challenge him.
I also said nothing about walking on the mountain on Under. That's definitely not allowed, and I'd already told someone off for trying to do that before..

Sorry, I didn't know that was the standard moderator procedure. Next time I see someone putting a vehicle on top of walls (cause It's posible, so the designer prob intended so) I'll try also to put a vehicle in there, to see if it was designed like that or if it's not and he magically poped it up there.

To clarify it, you can put vehicles like humvees and buggies inside a building, inside tunnels, on top of walls, on top of hill, quite easily. But that doesn't means it is allowed.
On a second note, if you ever wanna check how something works, either glitches, bugs, or worse things, you ask an admin to set up a test server and you try there, not in front of all players, cause they're all gonna imitate whatever they see, good or bad.

After looking around, I agree with delu, mikey, and gumby that it shouldnt be allowed on sand either. It's the same concept.

You told me it was allowed, I told you it wasn't and explained it's the same glitch as the tuns on field where you can walk up the wall (which is also not allowed), you then told me to ask Miatachris if it was allowed (Anyone feel free to check the irc logs i'm 100% sure that will be there).

 

You only have to look at the under screenshots to see what happens when people break rules and get away with it, other people think it's ok and as Delu said, they imitate.

 

Don't take this post as an attack on you because it isn't, I posted purely for clarification, I've no idea what your post was before you edited it but you're just reinforcing my point really if it was insulting me.

I see, it seemed nothing like walking up the mountain on Under to me at the time.

Whatever I edited out was not directed at you, and wasn't that bad, I'd just rather not say anything offensive to any degree to anyone, which I why I removed it.

It was directed to me, but this is a game, and we got this solved, so its good.

Also, just another point, if any player has a doubt about a rule and you ask a mod who is unsure, just make sure you then go ask someone higher. Miatachris is also a somewhat recent mod, as I am to be honest, so if any of us half mods is unsure about anything, go ask a senior mod or an admin, they'll gladly help you.

That Under one: I warned them the last spree they had 2 months ago if they didn't stop, I'd start banning them.

The Sand one: I thought you could only go up to a certain height on that spot, of course I don't generally look for glitches to abuse either. Were they able to get there normally?

Need popcorn to go with this drama. My opinion if you can do it go for it makes people learn new things about the maps and new ways to solve defending against it. But hay that's just one drunk

You are not allowed passed the natural map boundaries. If you find a glitch in the boundaries: Report it, Don't abuse it.
