Rooney Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 I noticed that we have original C&C_Under in the rotation as well as C&C_Under(RxD version). Was wondering what you guys think of having regular Under pulled and just keeping the RxD version in the rotation.. As cool as a map that Under is, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me to have it in the rotation twice. Plus, Pimped weapons can give the losing team an advantage when needed.What do you guys think? 1
Mikey Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 The rotation has to be carefully chosen as it has been, players afaik are happy with the way it is now, I haven't seen/heard any complaints about it. Pulling maps out without replacing it with something is a risky move and especially when a lot of players prefer classic under as opposed to rxd under. If you read through some previous thread regarding the rotation you can see what has been discussed/happened in the past. 1

So technically Under is in there. Maybe, if you insist on replacing the map with something else, put in C&C_Gobi? I just feel that playing Under twice in a rotation is making it feel repetitive. Rooney Posted October 23, 2015 Author Posted October 23, 2015 Under is awesome for multiple reasons. For starters, it is one of the better balanced maps when it comes to vehicle warfare. The field can be easily taken from the other team from multiple different angles; stanks sneaking onto hill and flanking meds that are approaching the nod base, as arties distract by shooting at them from nod base entrance is one example. The tunnel warfare is slanted to be better for GDI. Nod isn't able to AGT walk like GDI is capable of ob-walking.. However, there is plenty of area on the field/tunnels for stealth units on Nod's side to hide. So its balanced there for the most part, assuming that someone on nod it actually keeping an eye on the tunnels/what is happening on the field. Islands is probably my favorite map. I just like the balance associated with under. Plus, any of you that were stuck with Renegade Demo's multiplayer (raises hand) probably feel Under's nostalgia. That's why I treasure the pimped weapons, and when I see that its RxD's version of Under, I see opportunities to balance the game for Nod's tunnel warfare.

WNxH3adSh00t Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 I don't think that unless GDI rushes out with Over9000 meds they will take the field from several Arties + techs. Tunnels in Under are indeed lame, one person can deny all the enemy infantry by just hugging with jet. Most if not all maps are Nod sided only because arties(unless City flying where snipers and orcas screw around shooting at stuff and denying stank rushes)
ehh Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 meds on tib and hill can withstand the art techs easily, add infantry on the hill with infinite ammo and its even easier then get a mammy on the hill corner and nods never getting the field lol, its insane how undervalued mammoth tanks are its also easier to hit buiildings from the field as gdi
shaitan Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 A mammy down in the tib field (next to that rock in the tib on nod side)with/without one tech can hold off Artie's at nod entrance easily. You're in a valley able to shoot the top of the Artie's, they cannot hit you as easily. 1

But it works better for nod since they can do it with arties, splash damage is insane and GDI won't be able to come out with repairs.

We should have a test-day to see what would happen if we disable the !weapons, I guess people will buy more tanks. The reason why people choose infantry is because you can literally be a walking killing machine, jet + pic/rail, add a volt just for the lols if you can't aim for shit and bought the jet to look good, add in the random stealth crate and you get the most OP thing(even more OP in maps with no base defenses if you're a hotwire). Take away the weapons from a n00b and he will buy a tank, he might not be that helpful but he will at least do some teamwork. 2

But then, it was a smaller community and most of the regular players were a tight knit bunch. Hex tailored all the rules to promote the benefit of teamwork as much as possible. Miss it so much. Same story with DG server although it was a big well known community the team play always remained for every game, Manuel especially will remember, those were better days undoubtedly. ehh Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 yeah, much easier to get teamwork in smaller games, say <20 higher than that and its near impossible to get some teamwork going, unless you have 50 meds in your base ready to rush which isnt even teamwork imo 1
Rooney Posted October 24, 2015 Author Posted October 24, 2015 Last night my roommate (Gummi) and I were playing some 6v6 here on rencorner. Doing chem rushes on volcano makes me remember these good old days where teamwork was always a factor to ensure that your team won. None of that lone wolf BS.
