speedracre Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 looking to get a new graphics card what kind of cards does everyone use? TIA
vlatkozelka Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 I used to have the Nvidia GTX 750Ti , really good mid range video card , and a really good deal for the price (100$ here). You get a card that can play any game on medium and sometimes high settings , and it can be put on any PC really since it consumes only about 60 Watts . Now I have the GTX 970, also a great deal , for about 340$ you get one of the highest end single GPUs out there (despite the 3.5 GB VRAM issue) . So if you want a cheap option , I really recommend the 750Ti , even when I sold it I already played every game out there on high settings. If you want a high end one you could get the 970 (or maybe the 960 for even cheaper ) . And if you wanna go pro , the 980 or 980Ti . The 980 isn't really that far from 970 , except for the 6 GB memory which could help in future games. As for AMD , I'm honestly not that informed , but all I know is they consume a LOT of power and dissipate a LOT of heat - "completely safe 95 C" AMD says- What are you PC specs ?
masscarriers Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Got an old Radeon HD 6670, was the only "cheap" upgrade that wouldn't require me changing the PSU back then. Was a huge increase from onboard graphics to say the least! Now this was at least 4-5 years ago and I honestly have no idea what is trendy these days.

Intel Xexon 2 processor 3.2 gig, 16 gig mem, 64bit OS (win7pro) current card is a ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT (haha minecrafts minimum)

warlord83 Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Def would have to agree 750 ti is the cheaper but still good card to go with.
