Renegade on Win10

Hey

 

i did reinstall renegade after i got win10 on my comp and now it keeps crashing when I start the game. its been a while since i installed ren over origin so im not sure if i did forget something?

works well on my win 10, but had to run everything as admin iirc. Make sure the whole folder is set for all permissions also.

Still not working. Did you install it via Origin?

Are you sure you are not being kicked out because the server is offline?

Nah I had the original cd, but if it crashes when starting the game I doubt it's related to the installation but rather the compatibility/permissions.

try going into right click/restore previous versions/compatibility/run under windows XP service pack 3/ change the reduce colour mode to 16-bit/ click the box saying disable display on high dip scale thingy/ apply and ok.

 

That should fix it did for me unless you have already done that.

 

Or if you upgraded from windows 8 downgrade again by restoring the compute back to factory settings.

OH! damn it I forgot to tell you something else make sure you run as administrator in the restore previous versions window ok hope this helped.

When I Upgraded from windows 8 it did the exact same thing for me.

EDIT: Renegade works fine now, just forgot to install Scripts :-P

hey everyone   CrazyCharger here any way I installed ren with origin and it wont patch I did all the things above   I also installed the original disk then patched it but wont run WTF? I just wanna play ren  windows 10   I can install with origon but when I patch it up it don't recognize renegade

If your trying to patch Renegade with the origin version you don't need to patch it it already has the latest update

I figured this out also a while back and wrote a manual, ill summarize steps below:

1. Install Command & Conquer Renegade from disk/iso

2. 

Installeer the latest Patch -

Latest version: 1.0.37

Filename: renegade_1037_english.exe

3. 

Install the Tiberian Technologies Client

Latest version: 4.2.4

Filename: tt-scripts-4.2.4.exe

4. Download & use the latest version of renlist. 

 

Note: It's possible that there are newer versions of some files but the steps remains equal.
