mdogg1108 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Hello guys - I wanted to propose an idea that maybe we can implement. However, I'm not sure if it's even possible nowadays. If it's not even possible, I do apologize for the post. Way back when, in the old n00bstories days, I do distinctly remember a certain feature of teamspeak that was connected with Renegade. Teamspeak used to auto-place you on the corresponding team you were on in game. For example, it is the end of Canyon and I am on GDI. The next map, Complex, loads and I am on Nod. Teamspeak would automatically switch me into the Nod channel, along with all the others that were on teamspeak. I wanted to propose this idea to you guys (if it's even possible in the new teamspeak nowadays). My reasons for it are as follows: I believe that it will encourage better gameplay Hanging out in teamspeak with your buddies is cool, I enjoy doing it when I can. However, sometimes it's hard to talk strategy if someone in your channel is on the other team. Being able to talk as much as you want strategy wise without worrying if someone else is in the channel would be nice. If someone wanted to talk to someone specific, such as someone on another team, they could always use any other channel. Hopefully, people would use the feature and we could have team conversations. I believe that it will boost teamspeak traffic Personally, I am trying to use teamspeak a lot more often. While using teamspeak, I would enjoy using this luxury. I would also try to encourage as many of teammates to join the channel too. When in "squad" situations, I am more prone to stay in game. I love playing in a big group of friends, 4-5 people, with everyone being on the same page and strategizing a plan. Renegade is a team game, for sure, and I love playing with a good team. Whenever I quit, it's usually because I have something to do or just because I'm bored. As I stated before, when in group situations I love to play. There are times where I say I'll log off, and end up playing an extra 2 hours because I am having so much fun with my team. In return, great group games may help keep server traffic up. If everyone is focused and having a good time, people may be prone to stay in-game. I don't know if any of you guys will feel this way, but I do. Overall it would be a cool feature Overall, it would be a nice feature to have. Even if this were implemented, I don't expect 20 people to start using it while ingame. However, if you wanted to use it, you could use it and hang out in the channels. If not, then so what? Join a channel with your pals and have a nice conversation. Nobody would be forcing you to use the feature, it would just be a nice addition. Thanks for listening everyone. 1
BeerBaron Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I've seen something like that for ts2 on one of my old servers but there were some problems once it was actually implemented. Biggest was that most ppl on TS arent using the same ID as they are ingame. If it can work tho, id be down.

I believe there was a feature so that it wouldn't let you into the channels unless your name matched up with your name ingame.
Learonys Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 This actually sounds like a really good feature. A bit of promotion once it's made and the TS channel could also get a lot more people going aswell.

ehh Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 just dont make it stack teams with ts players (like ns did).
warlord83 Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 It seems lazy just join the nod or gdi channel. I'm sure it could be done but we have both channels. A block to stop the other team from joining the opposite teams channel would be more useful.
masscarriers Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 I'd play with ehh on Ts, I wonder if he speaks like he writes on forums, cryptic short answers
ehh Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 i have a terrible accent that will make you feel confused 1
