AnThRaX Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Tbh, shai's anecdotal evidence aside, it is VERY hard to win GDI hourglass in a public server with little to no teamwork. I think disabling base defenses would be much more competitive. I think most of the time when that map loads and I'm on GDI I just fart around and try to stall the inevitable until Nod wins. Unless the skill is severely stacked to GDI's team there's not much chance of winning GDI hourglass regardless of what you do. Would love to trial no base defenses.

AnThRaX Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 I don't really care if any modifications are made to the server this way or that, I enjoy my time whenever I play, but if it does come to a poll I am going to pick my preferred answer. It's no secret that Whoreglass is a heavily biased towards Nod map, as most people have no idea how to shoot the buildings from the top as GDI. Anytime it comes up I feel like I'm the only tank on the hill and it gets depressing fast.

It's not that hard you just need a couple of good hotwires who know enough to stay off the wall, hug the tiberium(better is chemwarriors with !srep). You be on the left-middle area only. As a mammoth you can whore away at the left-hand middle rock formation. Aim your view down a little when the arties/stanks appear, and rocket away. The rockets shoot further, but you have to do it abit to get the hang of aiming it(they go far and curve wide). There's only the one spot on there that is hard to hit something, and that's to your far left, they hug the rock on nod side of the hill(even then, if you mix up the rockets/shells, you can still hit it enough to make them back off). 1

I don't disagree with anything you say, in a vacuum it should be pretty 50:50, the thing is you just don't get this kind of mindset from the average public server player, a lot of them are completely unfamiliar with how to shoot buildings as GDI, and just know that arties are really simple to hit any building you want with little to no effort. If I want to hit the hand as a medium tank I have to go all the way across the hill and lean my tank against the rock on Nod's side of the hill, then I'm getting hit by arties and raves and sbh and whatever else, whereas Nod can stay safely on their side of the mountain and hit any GDI building aside from the barracks. The obby obliterates a med in three shots, whereas the AGT does pretty much negligible damage to Nod tanks in comparison, I think a technician can outrepair all AGT damage except for maybe against a buggy or apache. It's simplistic for Nod to setup 4 arties and have one flame tank protecting the hill for them whereas GDI has to have this massive teamplay front where pretty much everyone is committed to winning. It just doesn't happen consistently.
