Niagra?

Hey guys,

I wanted kindly ask if it is possible to bring Niagra back in the rotation?

It was very funny in the past and would bring some more diversity in Renegade (especially the pimp hummvs / Recon bikes )

There are also many possible tactics there (sbh nuke pp / arty,mrl rush through downside / stank rush / hunting stanks with pimp hummvs / pimp hummvs sneaking over upside etc.) Also snipers find their place.

Maybe we could vote about it? irrespective of this, Rencorner staff do good work and I like playing on the server with you all. keep it serious :)

Masscarriers and I we're planning on reshuffling the rotation tomorrow because its been nearly a year since the last time it was done.

Niagra was one of the maps we we're thinking of adding back.

Oh god no.

We already had a poll (!niagra/!no_niagra) and no niagra won, hence it went out of the rotation. The players clearly stated that they didn't want it, so why even consider bringing it back. That's like saying "hey, let's add shotguns on engineers again even though a poll passed to remove them." No, just no, not only because it's awful, but because our players were quite clear about not wanting it in the rotation. Don't take me wrong, you can poll it again, but it doesn't makes much sense, couple months ago it went as "no we don't want it" and it's gonna be polled again in such short amount of time?

But hey it's your call. Even though there are plenty of other maps that weren't polled as "no we dont want it" and that could be added, such as creekdale, siege (even if the reticle is glitched in that map for infantry in tunnels, vehicles do good in field), bridge, trees (I mean fjords) and many more.

I can perfectly see people voting a map out of the rotation if it's been a long time they've been playing it, then wanting it in again a year later. It's called the novelty factor and it's the reason why it's important to shuffle the rotation every now and then. The !niagra poll was started on September 10th 2015 btw, that's more than a year ago. I can't say when it was removed exactly though.

If you're banishing a map of the server because it's been voted no in a poll at some point, in 2 years from now we'll be playing exclusively Field and Complex :/ You could also make a poll for Every map in the server, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Under, Sands, Bunkers and Hourglass go you see. Then adding fjords instead of niagra just because it's not been polled doesn't make sense don't you agree ;)

I just looked at the poll and counted the votes to see if your right:

62 votes !niagra http://box.rencorner.co/mapspoll/niagra.txt

So the point, that players clearly voted it out is not given.
Indeed, the decision to take out Niagra was because there was a "comparision vote" with bunkers ( Host: [bR] To vote for or against having Bunkers /Niagra use: !bunkers / !no_bunkers / !niagra / !no_niagra )

Btw. did you really voted 4 times against it?

Looks like you made a decision - for Creekdale Flying.
I am wondering, because Creekdale Flying was voted out 36 nocreek / 12creek.  (Compared to niagra 62niagra / 56no_niagra)
Seems its not the point what the majority of players wants.

But thank you for reshuffling the rotation, some fresh air is good for the Rencorner Community.

You keep grasping at that Niagra polling, it's already been said that those numbers are not counted. I left that run for ages and ages, passed the time we took it out. I left it on because I was lazy at first, then it just got to be a joke that people still voted.

Anytime we do a polling, I delete the old ones out of there.
