DickClark Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 (edited) so, ive been tasked to check around for internet prices for Mrs DickClark's new rental home. i think to myself 'man that'll be noo problem' as i fancy myself as a clever shopper. so i start looking. the first website i visit (charter communications) literally looks like the website was created by a three year old. when i click the pricing for internet, it only shows me the 'bundle' price. so i start looking for comcast. there are. LITERALLY. about 4 different websites either hosted by comcast themself or 'an xfinity authorized dealer'. each is showing me different prices for different speeds. i check a couple others to soon learn there are still companies offering FUCKING DIAL UP INTERNET in 2016!!! (-_-) the only website that at least was clear on pricing was Time Warner cable. which im pretty sure isnt even in my area. (New Hampshire) so this brings me to two questions: are communications companies getting waay too big for thier britches that they can set up thier websites to actively mislead customers, and is that even close to morally right?, and question 2 : Whos dick do i have to suck to get some not slow internet 'round here? Edit: im wondering if theres any type of website that independently reviews ISPs. i tried looking for one. im under the assumption even if one existed though, the communications dickheads prolly shut it down. but perhaps thats something we as consumers need to look into. because clearly these communications conglomerates have 0 want or desire to police themselves. DickClark Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 hmm veeeryy helpful rag thx! ofc, after like 10 google searches that website didnt show up anywhere, you know cause google searches suck around here and are full of ads basically. but yes, now that i read this site, i am seeing that even MORE of the prices i saw were inaccurate! this is complete BOLLOCKS!!!!!!!!!! these companies are way too overstacked. is it really necessary to have every single communications company selling phone tv and internet? how come customers who just want one get fucked? how come there arent broadband companies that specialize in just internet?
DickClark Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 Rag. dude. its not even over. the website you gave me. the company that carries basically all the cable in my area. has. a.38%! customer satisfaction rating. 38 PER FUCKING CENT!!! That's basically doing no homework or projects but doing all tests and finals AT BEST. thats like missing one half of the school year! this is a 'PROFESSIONAL' COMMUNICATIONS PROVIDER!!!!!! WTF???????????????
DickClark Posted October 21, 2016 Author Posted October 21, 2016 i should note here that bandwidth in this country is pretty good. but its time to start looking at it as its pretty good DESPITE our isps. if other countries are looking at our internet infastructure/systen as a model of some kind, it sure as fuck isnt. the isps here are basically just lucky that they're able to provide so much bandwidth. thats separate from being good at delivering it to people. or more specifically holding it over peoples heads like they apparently like to do..
BeerBaron Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Just wait until you get caught pirating movies, then youll see just how bs these companies really are.

I'm using AT&T, which according to the website should offer DSL speeds of up to 75mbps. The fastest they offer is 6, I peak out at ~2.3 down .25 up, and there's a painful monthly cap of 150GB. It's murder for $60 goddamn bucks a month. I'm going to have to call up those other providers. 1
StJohn Gumby Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 $30 a month, includes phone and TV. Gumby
